KingMidas Games joins YGG Masters to launch faster
- KingMidas Games joins Yggdrasil’s YGG Masters partner studio programme.
- The studio will build new titles on Game in a Box™ technology.
- The deal opens a distribution network of more than 2,000 brands.
KingMidas Games has partnered with Yggdrasil to join its YGG Masters programme, gaining access to the supplier’s proprietary Game in a Box™ technology.
The agreement, announced from Malta on 21 October 2026, will help the studio create and launch games faster and expand its international reach.
Faster from concept
As part of the programme, KingMidas Games will build on Game in a Box™, the proprietary development technology from Yggdrasil. The framework gives the studio’s team greater control over production from early concept through to release.
Developers will have the flexibility to adjust game mechanics, rework maths models and refine server-side logic. They can also test different gameplay directions throughout development, helping the studio bring titles to market more quickly.
Yggdrasil launched Game in a Box in October 2025. The technology has since been adopted by YGG Masters partners including Slightly Edgy and Lakka Studios.
Japanese IP on board
KingMidas Games brings a diverse portfolio of more than 150 titles to the programme. Its catalogue spans cards, chips, classics, dice, IP-based games, lottery, roulette, slots and virtual experiences.
The studio also contributes collaborations with renowned Japanese IP holders. According to Yggdrasil, these add recognisable characters, established worlds and distinctive gameplay to its growing network of partner studios.
All KingMidas Games content is certified by leading testing laboratories, including BMM Testlabs, Gaming Associates and Globalabs. The studio was nominated for Casino/Slots Developer of the Year at the SBC Awards 2026 and Game Studio of the Year at the SiGMA Asia Awards 2025.
Built for growth
For KingMidas Games, the agreement marks an important step in its global growth strategy. The studio will combine its creative expertise with Yggdrasil’s technology, commercial support and a distribution network of more than 2,000 brands.
Together, these resources are set to accelerate the delivery of distinctive content and strengthen the studio’s presence in new markets.
Sargis Khachatryan, Global Commercial Director, KingMidas Games, said:
“We believe the future of gaming lies not just in how games are played, but in how they make players feel. At KingMidas Games, our ambition has always been to create distinctive experiences that resonate with players worldwide.
Yggdrasil is a natural strategic partner for us, combining world-class technology, an extensive global network, and, most importantly, a shared commitment to innovation. Together, we look forward to accelerating our creative ambitions, bringing differentiated content to more markets and exploring new possibilities for an industry where creativity and emotional connection play an increasingly important role.”
Welcome to the family
Founded in 2013, Yggdrasil has a portfolio of more than 500 titles, including Vikings Go Berzerk and Valley of the Gods. Alongside Game in a Box™, its game creation solutions include BOOST tools and a wide range of Game Engagement Mechanics.
Headquartered in Malta, the company supports partner studios through programmes such as YGG Masters and YGG Champions, helping them develop and scale in the global market.
Zoe Bird, Head of YGG Masters, Yggdrasil, said:
“We’re so excited to welcome KingMidas Games to the YGG Masters family! Their distinctive gameplay and Japanese IP collaborations bring something genuinely fresh to the program, and we can’t wait to see what they can create with our new Game in a Box™ technology.
We share the same passion for innovation and quality, and I’m really looking forward to working closely with the team, supporting them through development and celebrating the launch of their very first title with us.”
First title ahead
KingMidas Games now moves into development with Yggdrasil’s team. The two companies have yet to announce the first title created under the partnership.
The release will be the first game to combine the studio’s Japanese IP collaborations with Game in a Box™. It will reach operators through Yggdrasil’s global network.
For Yggdrasil, the addition broadens the creative range of YGG Masters, bringing IP-led content and more than 150 titles’ worth of experience into its roster of partner studios.
