Alberta (Canada)

iGaming is legal and launching in Alberta in 2026, following passage of the iGaming Alberta Act in 2025. The province established a regulated framework modeled on Ontario’s successful market.

The Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) oversees operations while Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) serves as regulator. Operators can now register with AGLC, with market launch expected later in 2026.

The framework includes strong player protections, centralized self-exclusion, and responsible gambling measures. Revenue split: 20% to Alberta, 2% to First Nations, 1% to social responsibility initiatives.
