Malta-based iGaming content supplier Octoplay has entered South America for the first time, launching its game portfolio in Brazil through an expanded partnership with Superbet.

The partnership deepens an already established European relationship between the two companies. It marks Octoplay’s debut in Latin America’s largest regulated gaming market.

Building on a European foundation

Octoplay and Superbet have collaborated across European regulated markets prior to this deal. The Brazilian expansion extends that relationship into a new continent. It also arrives at a moment of considerable momentum for Superbet.

The operator’s parent company rebranded to Super Technologies in December 2025, signalling a strategic pivot from regional betting operator to broader technology platform. Founder Sacha Dragic was confirmed as sole CEO from January 2026, sharpening the group’s leadership structure as it pursues international growth.

Superbet was among the first operators to obtain a Brazilian gaming licence. It entered the market in 2023 and secured regulatory authorisation ahead of the country’s officially regulated online gaming framework launching on 1 January 2025.

The operator has since built a strong local presence through football sponsorships, cultural partnerships, and technology investment. That footprint gives Octoplay immediate access to an established and growing player base.

Octoplay’s reach

Founded in 2022 and headquartered in St Julian’s, Malta, Octoplay has expanded rapidly since launch. The company now holds active licences across 14 regulated markets: the UK, New Jersey, Michigan, Italy, Spain, Ontario, Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Greece, Romania, Malta, and Slovakia.

Its Michigan launch, completed alongside four Tier One operators, demonstrated the supplier’s ability to move quickly in newly regulated markets — an approach it now replicates in Latin America.

The supplier operates five in-house game studios — Penguin King, Super Hippo, Smash Games, Twice As Nice, and Combat Royale — each with a distinct creative identity. Its portfolio spans approximately 80 video slot titles, growing at a rate of roughly one new release per month.

Ralitsa Georgieva, Director of Business Development at Octoplay, said:

“Our Brazilian launch with Superbet marks a historic beginning of our South American expansion,” said Georgieva. “This partnership brings our innovative content to the region’s largest gaming market, establishing a strong foundation for our continued growth across Latin America.”

On behalf of Superbet Brazil, Malcolm Agius, Lead Casino Manager, added:

“We are thrilled to introduce Octoplay’s premium gaming content to our Brazilian players. Their reputation for delivering engaging, high-quality games aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing the best entertainment experience in the market,” said Agius.

Brazil as a springboard

Brazil’s regulated iGaming market formally launched on 1 January 2025 and has rapidly attracted international supplier and operator investment. For Superbet, Brazil has been a priority. The group secured €1.3 billion in refinancing with Blackstone and HPS Investment Partners in early 2025, earmarking funds for accelerated Brazilian growth.

More recently, Super Technologies acquired the online operations of MaxBet in Romania and Malta, further expanding the group’s regulated footprint. The operator also paid out €30 million following a slot machine software bug in Romania, an episode that drew attention to its compliance posture in regulated environments.

For Octoplay, this deal is part of a deliberate regional strategy. The company has framed Brazil explicitly as a gateway into Latin America, with further operator agreements expected to follow across South America. The country’s scale — home to over 200 million people with high mobile penetration — makes it one of the most closely watched iGaming markets globally.
