Octoplay has launched its gaming content in Michigan across four major operators simultaneously, expanding its United States presence less than six months after entering New Jersey.
The supplier went live with BetMGM, FanDuel, Fanatics, and Rush Street Interactive today, on 29 January 2026, marking its most extensive coordinated market entry.
Rapid U.S. expansion continues
Michigan is one of the top three states by iGaming revenue in the United States, alongside New Jersey and Pennsylvania, with the trio accounting for nearly 90% of the nation’s $8.41 billion in online casino revenue during 2024.
The simultaneous launch with four tier-one operators demonstrates the confidence major platforms have placed in Octoplay’s content portfolio.
“Just months after our New Jersey debut, Michigan represents the next phase of our U.S. expansion,” Ralitsa Georgieva, Director of Business Development at Octoplay, said.
“Launching simultaneously with four leading operators shows the confidence the market has in our content. We expect to carry this momentum into additional states throughout 2025.“
The company made its U.S. debut in New Jersey in the second half of 2025. Michigan now becomes the second state in Octoplay’s North American expansion strategy, with additional state applications currently in progress.
Michigan’s combined iGaming and sports betting revenue reached $3.8 billion in 2025, marking a 29.5% increase over 2024, with the state collecting $624.6 million in taxes.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board has maintained active enforcement throughout 2025, issuing cease-and-desist orders to over 50 unlicensed offshore operators, including 12 sites targeted in December.
Growing regulatory footprint
Since its founding in October 2022, Octoplay has secured active licences across thirteen regulated jurisdictions.
Beyond New Jersey and Michigan, the supplier operates in the United Kingdom, Ontario, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Malta, Italy, Greece, Romania, and Slovakia.
The company’s expansion has not gone unnoticed by industry analysts. Earlier this year, Eilers & Krejcik ranked Octoplay first among U.S. rising suppliers by overall index in H1, highlighting the supplier’s accelerating trajectory in the American market.
Leadership transition supports expansion
The Michigan launch arrives as Octoplay undergoes a leadership transition designed to support its next phase of growth.
Ralitsa Georgieva, who led the Michigan expansion as Director of Business Development, will assume the CEO position in March 2026.
The leadership change was announced in mid-January, with Octoplay’s founder stepping back from the CEO role to focus on creative and strategic direction.
Alongside Georgieva’s appointment, Octoplay has strengthened its executive structure. Jack Bailey joins as Commercial Director to drive global growth initiatives.
Conor Leavey, who has advised the company since September, steps into the role of Chief Product Officer. Martina Borg Stevens has been promoted to Chief Legal Officer, whilst Nicola Vella assumes the role of Chief Finance Officer.
The company’s rapid growth from its 2022 founding to operating across thirteen jurisdictions in just a couple of years shows Octoplay’s ability to create demand for its content, even in complex regulatory environments.
