SBC Summit will move beyond the hype around Web3 and crypto with a dedicated Web3 & Crypto Academy, examining practical applications across payments, transparency, security and player trust.
The Academy takes place on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, at Sala Tejo, MEO Arena in Lisbon, as part of SBC Summit’s premium Education+ programme.
Beyond the hype
The Academy brings together Web3 and crypto specialists, technology experts and industry leaders to examine where Web3 is delivering genuine value, how it can strengthen trust and transparency, and what businesses need to adopt it effectively.
It is aimed at professionals looking to build practical skills and a roadmap for Web3 and crypto adoption, through workshops, case studies, live demonstrations, fireside chats, panels and presentations.
Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC, framed the Academy as a shift from theory to practice.
“In an industry as competitive as ours, it’s often the small things that have the biggest impact. Web3 and crypto can offer that advantage, whether it’s speeding up payments, expanding offerings or building greater player trust. What’s so unique about this Academy is that it moves beyond discussing potential. It’s about showing attendees where Web3 and crypto payments can add real value and giving them the practical knowledge to start applying it within their own businesses.”
Payments to proof
The day opens with Crypto, Blockchain & Gambling: Where Are We Now?, in which Simit Naik, Web3 Specialist at Teronade Group, will examine where Web3 is delivering value today and the role hybrid models could play in the industry’s future.
Attention then turns to Crypto Payments in Regulated Markets: Hype or Reality?, featuring Anthony Day of VeChain, Dinis Guarda of Ztudium, Aaron Sanchez of MiCA, Dereck Hoogenkamp of Yalla Limited and moderator Udo Seckelmann of Bichara e Motta Avogados, who will explore how operators are blending crypto and stablecoins with traditional payment methods.

A case study and live demonstration, Provably Fair: Can Players Really Verify Every Outcome?, will see Ulle Skottling, CEO of DeGaming, compare random number generator models against on-chain verification.
The Academy closes with the workshop Building Hybrid Gambling Platforms: Where Web2 Meets Web3, led by Gene Deyev of Stobox and Brett Calapp of Turnt Gaming, alongside a fireside chat examining whether blockchain genuinely strengthens fairness and player trust.
Access and pricing
Access to the Web3 & Crypto Academy requires an Education+ Pass, priced at €249 as an add-on to SBC Summit and Affiliate Leaders Summit tickets. The pass covers one Academy of a delegate’s choice, alongside options built around AI, player experience and digital marketing & CRM, the last of which recently expanded its own line-up around agentic CRM and AI advertising.
Pass holders also gain access to SBC Summit’s masterclasses, including sportsbook trading and responsible gaming marketing sessions.

The Academy lands within a broader 2026 Lisbon programme that runs from 29 September to 1 October at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena, drawing an expected 40,000 industry professionals.
Crypto and blockchain topics increasingly cut across the wider agenda: SBC Summit has added a dedicated fintech track and a compliance tech track to this year’s line-up, and confirmed a Global Prediction Markets Forum running alongside the main event.
For operators weighing crypto rails against established payment infrastructure, the Academy’s focus on regulated-market adoption over speculative use cases signals where the conversation has moved on from a year ago.
