SBC Summit will dedicate a full conference track to fintech at its 2026 Lisbon event, examining how payments, compliance and player protection technology are reshaping operator infrastructure. The track runs on Tuesday, 29 September, forming part of the wider Payment Expert Summit stage.
The Fintech track brings together operators, payment providers and compliance specialists to discuss modernising payment infrastructure, strengthening fraud prevention and improving digital identity verification. Sessions will also examine how fintech tools can support responsible gambling programmes.
Payments under scrutiny
The track sits alongside two other specialist stages within the Payment Expert Summit: AML & Compliance on Wednesday, 30 September, and Crypto & Blockchain on Thursday, 1 October. Together, the three stages form a dedicated payments-focused programme.
Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC, said:
“Fintech is now influencing almost every stage of the player journey, from how players are onboarded and verified to how operators manage compliance, prevent fraud and support responsible gambling.”
“As these technologies continue to evolve, operators have an opportunity to deliver experiences that are faster, more seamless and more secure, while strengthening compliance and player protection. The Fintech track brings together the operators, payment providers and technology specialists driving that transformation, offering practical insights delegates can apply within their own businesses.”
Sessions across the day
The track opens with “From Click to Cashout: Building Reliable Payment Infrastructure,” featuring Sean Spiteri (Head of Payments, Eaton Gate Gaming) and Ran Cohen (Co-founder & CEO, BridgerPay), alongside speakers from Grupo GELSA and TESTA, discussing how to reduce friction in deposits and withdrawals.
A second session, “Solving Payments at Scale in Regulated Markets,” brings in Olga Gunchenkova (Director of Payments, Flutter International) and Andrea McGeachin (Group CEO, Neosurf), exploring consistent payment delivery across fragmented regulatory environments.
Identity verification features prominently too. “Beyond ID Checks: The New Role of Identity in Gaming” will examine upcoming EU AML reforms, with Vasilije Lekovic (VP Gaming, Trustly) among the panellists discussing faster onboarding under stricter compliance demands. That regulatory focus echoes SBC’s broader push at this year’s event, which introduced dedicated meetups connecting delegates with regulators from more than 20 jurisdictions.
The track closes with “Data-Powered Responsible Gambling: Leveraging Fintech Insights,” where speakers from 13Aff, Q Digital Assets and Grupo GELSA will discuss using financial data to flag harmful gambling behaviour earlier. Additional sessions cover agentic AI in finance and modular payment orchestration.
Networking and access
Beyond the conference stage, SBC has expanded its networking offer for fintech delegates. Smart Connect pairs operators with pre-qualified fintech suppliers through arranged meetings, while a guided Fintech Show Floor Tour introduces delegates to leading exhibitors.
The Fintech track forms part of a broader Lisbon programme spanning six stages, including a dedicated Sports Betting Innovation track covering live data, AI pricing and integrity tools.
SBC Summit 2026 runs from 29 September to 1 October at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena, with an expected 40,000 industry professionals in attendance. Conference access is included with Conference, Business and VIP Passes, though the Fintech networking sessions require a Business or VIP Pass specifically.
iGaming Republic readers can save 30% on VIP, Conference, Networking and Business passes using code IGRPARTNERVIP at checkout.
As payment rails, identity checks and AML obligations grow more intertwined, the track gives operators a concentrated look at where compliance spend is heading next. Suppliers pitching orchestration or fraud tools will be watching attendance closely as an early read on 2027 budget priorities.
