  • CEO Mattias Wedar says the group is now gearing up as a “global tier-1 operator” ahead of the World Cup.

LeoVegas Group has completed the migration of all its Sweden-facing brands to its proprietary Tiger sportsbook platform, with the flagship LeoVegas brand the last to go live.

The group confirmed the milestone on 2 June 2026, framing it as the start of a new chapter in its technical strategy. LeoVegas joins GoGoCasino and BetMGM Sweden on the platform, completing a rollout the group says it achieved in under two months.

Mattias Wedar, LeoVegas Group CEO, commented:

“In under two months, we have migrated all our brands in Sweden to our proprietary sportsbook, Tiger, and I couldn’t be more proud of this amazing achievement.

“Numerous teams have worked tirelessly to ensure sports fans across Sweden can benefit from this superior user experience in time for the World Cup.”

The Sweden deployment is the latest step in Tiger’s rapid international expansion. The platform had already gone live in Denmark and Brazil before its Swedish debut in April, when GoGoCasino went live with Tiger following a new betting licence from Spelinspektionen.

BetMGM Sweden added Tiger shortly after, with the flagship LeoVegas brand now completing the set. The platform includes a fully adaptable bet builder feature, daily boosted odds, partial cash-out options, and a live betting experience.

World Cup puts Tiger to the test

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup days away, the timing is deliberate. LeoVegas Group has consistently framed recent Tiger launches as preparation for the tournament, citing expectations of higher traffic and live betting demand.

Wedar added:

“Just as Rhino played a major role in LeoVegas’ initial success, I am confident that Tiger is a game changer, making us more agile, independent, and future-proof.

“The numbers from our previous launches have been very positive, and I can’t wait to see all the hard work from Team Leo come to fruition.”

Tiger is based on technology acquired from German sportsbook operator Tipico, in a transaction facilitated by LeoVegas Group’s parent company, MGM Resorts International.

The acquisition gave LeoVegas full ownership of a proven sportsbook stack, which it has since deployed across multiple regulated markets. The group has drawn a direct parallel between Tiger’s role in sports betting and that of its proprietary casino platform, Rhino, in driving its early growth.

The launch on BetMGM Brazil earlier this year showed Tiger can also support joint-venture partners, opening the door to potential B2B applications beyond the group’s own brands.

Tiger’s next markets in focus

With Sweden fully consolidated on Tiger, attention now turns to how the platform performs during the World Cup. Wedar’s confidence in early metrics from previous markets suggests the group will be watching conversion, retention, and product uptake data closely over the coming months.

For the wider industry, LeoVegas Group’s migration clearly points to a growing trend among tier-one operators towards proprietary infrastructure. Operators that control their own technology are better placed to iterate quickly, reduce third-party dependency, and respond to regulatory change.

With competition for Swedish bettors set to intensify over the summer, LeoVegas Group is betting its proprietary stack will be the differentiator.
