LeoVegas Group has achieved a major B2B milestone with the launch of its proprietary Tiger sportsbook on BetMGM Brazil.
The joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Grupo Globo will now offer Brazilian players access to the platform’s enhanced features, the company announced today on LinkedIn.
The timing of the launch aligns with the start of Brazil’s football league season, positioning BetMGM Brazil to capture interest from sports fans across the country. Tiger brings gamified bonus functionality, innovative features, and an expanded BetBuilder+ offering to the Brazilian market.
Rapid market expansion for Tiger
The Brazil deployment represents the second major market launch for Tiger within a span of just months. LeoVegas Group has prioritised controlling its technical infrastructure through proprietary development rather than relying on third-party platforms.
Adrian Vella, CPTO at LeoVegas Group, expressed excitement:
“The launch of our proprietary sportsbook Tiger on BetMGM Brazil marks a historic moment for LeoVegas Group. We have always believed in controlling our own technical destiny, and we have now successfully rolled out the sportsbook in two important igaming markets in a matter of just a few months,” said Vella.
With major sporting events on the calendar, including the World Cup, LeoVegas Group anticipates strong engagement from Brazilian players.
Technical capabilities and product features
Tiger’s architecture supports live betting products designed for real-time wagering during matches. The platform features BetBuilder+ functionality, which allows users to create customised bet combinations within single events, offering greater flexibility than standard betting markets.
According to the LinkedIn announcement, the sportsbook includes gamified bonus functionality and innovative features designed to enhance the user experience.
“As we approach an incredibly exciting year in sports, with the World Cup among the highlights, we look forward to seeing BetMGM Brazil’s players benefit from a faster product, new features, a deeper offering, and a superior UX,” Vela concluded.
LeoVegas Group developed the proprietary platform following its acquisition of Tipico’s US technology platform in June 2024, which gave the operator full control over its sportsbook technology stack.
The company’s Denmark launch of the proprietary platform in July 2025 showcased features including faster performance, improved live betting capabilities, enhanced bet builders, and partial cash-out functionality.
LeoVegas Group’s engineering, product, data, infrastructure, and design teams collaborated on the development and deployment of the platform.
Entry into the thriving Brazilian market
Brazil’s sports betting market opened to licensed operators following the passage of Law 14.790/2023, which President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva signed in December 2023. The regulatory framework established by the Ministry of Finance requires operators to obtain federal licences and comply with responsible gambling measures.
The market has generated substantial revenue since regulation took effect. Brazil collected nearly R$10 billion from regulated betting in its first year of operation, demonstrating the market’s commercial potential for licensed operators.
According to the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service, licensed operators must pay an 18% tax on gross gaming revenue, alongside consumer protection standards and advertising restrictions.
The licensing process opened in 2024, with dozens of operators submitting applications to enter the regulated market.
BetMGM background
BetMGM Brazil represents a strategic partnership between MGM Resorts International and Grupo Globo, one of Latin America’s largest media conglomerates.
MGM Resorts announced the joint venture in 2023, combining MGM’s betting expertise with Globo’s media reach and local market knowledge.
The partnership with LeoVegas Group provides BetMGM Brazil with a proprietary technical platform rather than a white-label solution. This arrangement offers greater customisation potential and reduced dependency on external technology providers.
B2B future for LeoVegas
The Tiger rollout demonstrates LeoVegas Group’s evolution beyond B2C operations into B2B services. By licensing its proprietary technology to third parties, the company has created an additional revenue stream from its technical investments.
LeoVegas Group’s financial reports have shown the company’s focus on technology development as a core strategic priority. The operator invested resources in building proprietary solutions to differentiate its offerings in competitive markets.
World Cup opportunity
Brazil’s betting market offers substantial growth potential given the country’s population of over 200 million and strong sports culture. Football remains the dominant sport for betting activity, with domestic leagues and international competitions driving year-round engagement.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will provide a major engagement opportunity for operators in the Brazilian market. LeoVegas Group’s technical infrastructure will face its first major test during peak betting periods around the tournament, when wagering volumes typically surge across global markets.
LeoVegas Group’s strategy of rapid market expansion with Tiger positions the company to compete for additional B2B contracts. As more operators seek alternatives to established platform providers, proprietary solutions with proven track records in major markets become increasingly attractive.
