LeoVegas Group has expanded its Swedish offering after GoGoCasino received a dedicated sports betting licence from Spelinspektionen, enabling the brand to launch a new betting vertical powered by the group’s proprietary Tiger sportsbook platform.
Tiger debuts in Sweden
GoGoCasino first launched in Sweden in 2019, attracting casino players with a user-friendly product in the newly regulated market. The brand has since anchored the group’s casino and live casino operations in the country. A sports betting licence now allows it to offer a unified casino and sportsbook product under a single platform for the first time.
Tiger was acquired from German operator Tipico in 2024 through a deal facilitated by MGM Resorts International, the parent of LeoVegas Group. The acquisition came as Tipico wound down its US operations, leading to the sale of its product and technology platform, including the Tiger sportsbook, to LeoVegas.
Adrian Vella, chief product and technology officer at LeoVegas Group, said:
“Launching our proprietary sportsbook, Tiger, on our home turf in Sweden is a massive milestone for the entire Group, and I couldn’t be more excited. Our teams across the globe have worked tirelessly to continue our international rollout, and this new addition to GoGoCasino will add layers of excitement for players who enjoy the thrills of both casino and betting.”
Product and features
The sportsbook offers a fully adaptable bet builder, daily boosted odds, partial cash-out options and a best-in-class live betting experience.
Tiger had already gone live in Denmark, the Netherlands and Brazil, the latter through BetMGM’s joint venture with Grupo Globo. Sweden is now its fourth regulated market and its first in the group’s home territory.
LeoVegas Group operates online casino, live casino and sports betting across nine brands in ten jurisdictions, employing over 1,900 people in Europe from its Stockholm headquarters and Malta operations hub.
What comes next
The Swedish rollout points to an accelerating pace of Tiger deployments across the LeoVegas portfolio. Reports indicate the platform has also gone live on BetMGM in Sweden, suggesting the group is moving quickly to standardise its sportsbook infrastructure across the market.
Spelinspektionen’s decision to grant a supplementary betting licence to an established casino operator reflects continued regulatory openness in Sweden, a dynamic that may benefit other groups seeking to expand vertically within the jurisdiction.
