Kambi Group’s esports division Abios has agreed a multi-year data partnership with Google, supplying comprehensive esports data to enhance a range of Google products and experiences.
What the deal covers
Abios data will go live on Google across the four most popular global esports titles: League of Legends, Counter-Strike, Dota 2 and VALORANT. The package spans scheduling, fixtures, competitive statistics, player and team information, and scoring data.
The integration will surface across Google Search and the Google App, extending the search giant’s sports information infrastructure into competitive gaming for the first time at this scale.
Abios supports partners through a proprietary database encompassing 50 billion data points across major esports titles. Its enterprise-scale solutions include odds, widgets and data feeds across all major esports titles.
Werner Becher, CEO of Kambi Group, said:
“Partnering with Google is a significant milestone for Kambi and Abios, and a strong endorsement of the advanced data infrastructure and expertise we have developed over many years. With Google’s global scale, this collaboration will help elevate the way esports data is accessed and experienced by audiences around the world.”
Google’s esports ambitions
Marvin Brischke, EMEA Sports Partnerships Lead at Google, said:
“Esports continues to grow in popularity globally, and we’re pleased to work with Kambi and Abios to improve the breadth of esports information available to our users.”
Google already surfaces scores and statistics for traditional sports. The Abios deal extends that capability into competitive gaming, positioning the platform to serve a fast-growing global esports audience.
The global esports betting market is projected to grow from $2.5bn in 2024 to $3.3bn by 2028, representing a compound annual growth rate of 7.27%, according to Statista Market Insights.
Abios has moved to strengthen its data supply chain in recent months. Kambi has also been broadening its commercial footprint, having recently signed a long-term sportsbook agreement with French operator Pari-Mutuel Urbain.
Implications for operators
For sportsbook operators, the partnership carries a clear signal. Greater mainstream visibility of esports data through a platform used by billions daily could accelerate audience growth in the vertical, widening the pool of potential bettors.
It also confirms Abios as a supplier capable of serving major non-gambling technology companies alongside its existing operator base.
The convergence of mainstream digital platforms and competitive gaming data suggests that fan expectations for data depth and real-time accuracy will continue to rise. Operators tracking esports growth should note Abios’ momentum as the vertical moves further into the mainstream.
Latest developments at Kambi
The Google deal is the latest in a run of commercial activity for Kambi. The group acquired the source code of OMEGA Systems’ player account management platform to unlock new Turnkey Sportsbook opportunities, and signed a multi-year deal with Mexican operator Pickwin.
The company is also targeting a return to profit growth in 2026, with the FIFA World Cup expected to contribute an additional €5m in revenue and AI-powered trading set to run the entire tournament for the first time.
