Super Technologies has signed main sponsorship agreements with PAOK Thessaloniki and Panathinaikos Athens, deploying the Superbet brand across two of Greek football’s leading clubs just days after launching in the country.

PAOK published a teaser on 2 April before formally announcing the deal on 3 April, with the broader multi-club announcement following on 7 April.

The Greek launch, covering both sportsbook and iGaming, took place on 30 March after the Hellenic Gaming Commission approved the transfer of an existing Type 2 online gaming licence to Superbet.

Rival clubs, shared sponsor

The PAOK official announcement confirmed the Superbet sponsorship with the Thessaloniki club runs until 2028, with the brand appearing on the jersey as major partner. It is common practice in betting sponsorship for operators to partner with competing clubs in the same market.

The club also noted that Superbet had provided financial support to the Down Syndrome Association of Greece and contributed to upgrades at the PAOK Academy.

PAOK are coached by Romanian manager Răzvan Lucescu and Panathinaikos are managed by Rafael Benítez. The two clubs met in the Super League Greece championship round play-offs on 5 April. The company announcement also included Levadiakos in the sponsorship portfolio.

The same announcement, cited by multiple Romanian sports outlets, referenced an agreement with the AEK Athens basketball team; this has not been independently confirmed by the club. No financial terms have been disclosed for any of the three deals.

Greece expansion

Adam Lamentowicz, chief commercial officer for CEE at Super Technologies, said:

“Greece is a mature and thriving market, thus we are proud to finally be here. This goes beyond a typical market entry, it is a long-term commitment to build the country’s most engaging entertainment ecosystem and bring people closer through excitement and a shared passion for sporting competitions.”

According to data from the Hellenic Gaming Commission, Greece’s market generated €3.07bn in gross gaming revenue in 2025, a 6.7% increase on the prior year.

The Greek market is regulated by the Hellenic Gaming Commission (EEEP) under Law 4002/2011. Stoiximan holds an estimated 50% of the licensed online sports betting market, with Kaizen Gaming and Betsson among the other established players.

John Kalamvokis, general manager of Superbet Greece, previously worked at Kaizen Gaming, operator of Betano and Stoiximan, for over 10 years.

Super background

Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Bucharest, Super Technologies rebranded from Superbet Group in December 2025, repositioning as a technology-driven entertainment business.

The group operates commercial markets in Romania, Poland, Serbia, Belgium and Brazil, supported by development hubs across Europe.

Blackstone made a strategic minority investment of €175 million in the company in 2019. The group subsequently secured a separate €1.3 billion refinancing agreement with Blackstone and HPS Investment Partners in February 2025.

In February 2026, Super Technologies also agreed to acquire the Romanian and Maltese operations of Maxbet Online from US-based Treo Asset Management, a deal pending approval from Romania’s Competition Council that would further consolidate its position in its home market.

Beyond Greece, the Superbet brand’s sports sponsorship portfolio spans Brazilian clubs São Paulo and Fluminense, Polish sides Wisła Kraków and Lech Poznań, and the Romanian Superliga. The company also serves as official LaLiga partner in Romania.
