  • Super Technologies has launched its Superbet brand in Greece, combining a sportsbook and iGaming product operated by an Athens-based team.
  • Greece’s online gaming market generates €1.2 billion in annual gross win and is growing at roughly 15% year-on-year.
  • The operator has introduced Supersocial, a social engagement product, as part of its localised offering from day one.

Super Technologies has officially launched its Superbet brand in Greece, marking the Romanian-founded group’s entry into one of southern Europe’s fastest-growing regulated markets.

The rollout covers both sports betting and iGaming, operated by a locally hired team based in Athens.

Market context

Greece’s gaming market generates approximately €1.2 billion in annual gross win and is growing at around 15% year-on-year, with projections pointing to €1.5 billion within the next two years.

The group entered the Greek market by acquiring Exoplay Limited, a Malta-based operator. This strategic move, approved by the Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC), allowed Superbet to leverage Exoplay’s existing Type 2 online gaming license as a regulatory foothold before its official launch.

The launch arrives at a commercially significant moment. The 2026 FIFA World Cup, beginning in June, represents one of the largest wagering events of the decade and is expected to drive significant new customer acquisition across licensed operators in newly entered markets.

Sports-first strategy

The Superbet Greece operation is built around what the group calls a “sports-first” philosophy, with a focus on local competitions and community-level engagement. A series of sponsorship partnerships has been signalled, though none confirmed publicly at the time of launch.

Among the products available from day one is Supersocial, a community engagement feature that forms part of Super Technologies’ proprietary product suite, alongside loyalty programme SuperCoins and prediction tool SuperSub.

Adam Lamentowicz, Chief Commercial Officer CEE at Super, said:

“Greece is a mature and thriving market, thus we are proud to finally be here. This goes beyond a typical market entry, it is a long-term commitment to build the country’s most engaging entertainment ecosystem and bring people closer through excitement and a shared passion for sporting competitions,” Lamentowicz commented.

“We intend to be a leading voice in Greece for years to come and we are confident that our brand and product offering will have an immediate impact.”

John Kalamvokis, General Manager at Superbet Greece, said:

“This is an important moment for the Greek gaming landscape, with a powerful brand like Superbet entering the market. In a swift amount of time, we have built a strong group of professionals that is committed to deliver the most exciting and immersive entertainment experience,” Kalamvokis added.

“We are confident that our innovative products, like Supersocial — a groundbreaking and engaging social network, will create a game-changing moment for the industry. Today we are just writing the first chapter of a future success story that will unfold with impactful partnerships and community projects.”

Super Technologies in focus

The Greece launch is one of several significant moves by the group in recent months. In December 2025, Superbet Group completed a corporate rebrand to Super Technologies, repositioning as a technology-driven entertainment business with international ambitions beyond its CEE heartland.

Leadership was also consolidated with founder Sacha Dragic being confirmed as sole CEO from January 2026, following a period of shared leadership.

On the M&A side, Super Technologies agreed in February 2026 to acquire Maxbet Online’s operations in Romania and Malta from US-based Treo Asset Management, pending approval from Romania‘s Competition Council. The deal further consolidates the group’s position in its home market.

The group also attracted attention last year after honouring more than €30 million in payouts triggered by a software bug on a Playtech slot title, a decision widely noted across the industry for prioritising player trust.

What comes next

With a licensed product live and a local team in place, the immediate focus will be on converting brand awareness into market share in a competitive field that already includes well-established operators active in Greece.

The pipeline of sponsorship announcements, combined with the World Cup window, will test how quickly Superbet can build a meaningful presence in Greek sports betting.

For operators already active in the market, the arrival of a well-capitalised international group with a proprietary technology stack and a community-oriented product strategy raises the competitive bar heading into the second half of 2026.
