Play’n GO has announced its entry into the Botswana market through a partnership with Betway, making the Swedish gaming supplier’s portfolio available to players in the African nation for the first time. The launch was confirmed on 12 December 2025.

The agreement marks Play’n GO’s second African market entry alongside Betway, following their joint launch in South Africa in July 2025. Betway’s position as a market leader in the region provides Play’n GO with an established platform to introduce its games to Botswana-based players.

Portfolio includes popular titles

Players in Botswana can now access Play’n GO’s catalogue of more than 400 games, including established slot titles such as Book of Dead, Reactoonz and Rise of Olympus. The supplier’s portfolio spans multiple game categories and mechanics, catering to diverse player preferences across regulated markets.

The African gaming market is one of the most exciting and energetic in the world and we’re thrilled to be entering Botswana for the first time with our partners Betway,” said Magnus Olsson, Chief Commercial Officer of Play’n GO.

Olsson added:

Play’n GO intends to be in every regulated market in the world, and Botswana now joins over 35 other regulated markets globally that are able to offer our world class games.

Expansion across regulated markets

The Botswana launch forms part of Play’n GO’s broader strategy to establish a presence in regulated jurisdictions worldwide. The supplier now operates in more than 35 regulated markets across multiple continents, positioning itself as one of the industry’s most geographically diverse content providers.

Play’n GO, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2025, was among the first suppliers to develop mobile-optimised casino games. The company designed games for mobile phones in 2005, predating the smartphone era. This early adoption of mobile technology has informed the company’s approach to game development and cross-platform compatibility.

Recent marketing initiatives

Beyond market expansion, Play’n GO has invested in marketing and brand diversification initiatives. The company sponsors the MoneyGram Haas Formula 1 team and has launched complementary brands including Play’n GO Music and a fashion line, Play’n GO Shop.

In October 2025, the supplier executed a promotional campaign for its game Reactoonz 100 by launching the game’s character, Garga, into space. The campaign saw Garga reach an altitude exceeding 35,500 metres, setting a world record. Play’n GO described Reactoonz 100 as its biggest game launch of 2025.

African market context

The partnership with Betway in Botswana represents Play’n GO’s continued focus on African markets, where regulated online gaming is developing across several jurisdictions. South Africa remains the continent’s most established regulated market, whilst other nations including Kenya and Nigeria have implemented or are considering regulatory frameworks for online gaming.

Betway operates in multiple African markets and has established brand recognition across the continent through sports betting and casino offerings. The operator’s infrastructure in Botswana provides Play’n GO with immediate access to an existing player base familiar with online gaming products.

Betway’s African market presence

Betway, which is part of the Super Group, offers both sports betting and casino products to players in jurisdictions including South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana and now Botswana. Betway’s African operations benefit from the brand’s sponsorship portfolio, which includes partnerships with major football clubs and sporting events across the continent.

The operator has invested in localised payment methods, customer support and marketing strategies tailored to African markets, contributing to its market-leading position in the region. Betway’s established infrastructure and regulatory compliance across multiple African jurisdictions makes it a strategic partner for international suppliers seeking to enter the continent’s developing online gaming markets.
