Peter & Sons joins Alberta’s regulated market

- Peter & Sons has entered Alberta’s newly regulated iGaming market with its complete game portfolio.
- The move follows the studio’s earlier Canadian debut in Ontario in March 2026, via Ellipse Entertainment.

Peter & Sons has entered Alberta’s newly regulated iGaming market with its complete game catalog, the Barcelona and Yerevan-based studio announced, marking its second Canadian market entry after Ontario.
The launch gives Alberta players access to the studio’s entire slate of titles as the province’s new competitive framework gets underway.
Portfolio arrives in full
The Alberta rollout brings Peter & Sons’ complete catalog to the province in one move, rather than a phased release of select titles. Players will be able to access games including Barbarossa: Dragon Empire, The Soapranos and Greedy Alice, alongside the rest of the studio’s library.
Founded in 2019, Peter & Sons has built its reputation on distinctive art direction and character-driven slot design.
The company did not name a launch operator or platform partner in its announcement, a departure from its earlier Ontario entry, which arrived through a named commercial tie-up.
Building on Ontario
Alberta is not Peter & Sons’ first stop in Canada. The studio went live in Ontario in March 2026 through Ellipse Entertainment, bringing its titles to the operator’s HighFlyerCasino.com platform.
That launch was framed by the studio as a foothold in one of North America’s most established regulated markets.
The Alberta move extends that strategy to a second Canadian province, consistent with a supplier pushing for broader regulated coverage rather than a single-market presence.
Lauryn Duncan, Head of Sales at Peter & Sons, said:
“Alberta is an exciting new market for Peter & Sons and an important step in our North American growth. Launching with our full portfolio gives us the chance to introduce the complete Peter & Sons experience from day one, from the art and characters to the mechanics and worlds that define our games. It is a market with strong potential, and we are proud to bring our games to players there.”
A crowded opening week
Peter & Sons arrives in the middle of the busiest launch week in North American iGaming history.
Alberta’s regulated market opened on July 13, ending the government-run Play Alberta monopoly, with 22 operator platforms live from 50 registered operators on day one.
DraftKings opened its sportsbook and casino, tying the launch to the FIFA World Cup and marking the operator’s 34th North American jurisdiction.
FanDuel also launched its casino and sportsbook alongside a renewed Canadian Football League tie-up, while bet365 entered the province on the back of its own multi-year CFL partnership, running through the 113th Grey Cup in Calgary on November 15.
PENN Entertainment took a wider approach, bringing three separate apps to Alberta at once: theScore Bet, theScore Casino and Hollywood Casino. Tonybet secured its AGLC license on the strength of 52% growth in Ontario registrations and revenue during 2025.
Powerhouse supplier Pragmatic Play certified its slots and live casino portfolio, including the Gates of Olympus series, for day one.
Under Alberta’s revenue framework, operators retain roughly 80% of net gaming revenue, with 2% directed to First Nations funding and 1% to responsible gambling programs.
H2 Gambling Capital projects the province’s regulated market share will climb sharply as channelization improves, echoing the trajectory Ontario has followed since 2022.
For a slot studio rather than an operator or sportsbook, standing out inside that volume of day-one activity depends less on marketing spend and more on catalog depth.
Peter & Sons’ bet is that arriving with everything at once, rather than a curated selection, gives Alberta operators fewer reasons to wait before slotting its titles into their lobbies.
