LCKY Group has entered into an agreement to acquire RoyalCasino, a Denmark-focused online casino operator, in a move that expands the international group’s footprint in one of Europe’s most established regulated markets.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Danish presence
RoyalCasino primarily operates in Denmark under a licence held by RoyalCasino.com Limited, granted by the Danish Gambling Authority, Spillemyndigheden. The business has built a recognised presence in the Danish online casino market over a number of years.
LCKY Group, formerly known as Glitnor Group before a rebrand in January 2026, operates a portfolio of online casino brands including Lucky Casino, Happy Casino, Flax Casino, VeraJohn and One Casino, alongside in-house game studio Swintt.
The group holds active licences across Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, Ontario and Denmark.
Richard Brown, CEO of LCKY Group, said:
“This is a highly strategic and financially compelling acquisition for LCKY Group. RoyalCasino brings both strong market presence and high-quality earnings in Denmark, a market that aligns closely with our focus on regulated, sustainable growth.
“The transaction enhances our scale, strengthens our competitive position, and provides clear opportunities to drive synergies and long-term value creation. We look forward to working closely with the RoyalCasino team to realize these opportunities.”
Cross-market opportunity
The deal supports LCKY Group’s multi-brand strategy and creates potential for cross-market opportunities as the combined business looks to optimise brand positioning within Denmark and beyond.
Per Petersen, CEO of RoyalCasino, said:
“RoyalCasino is one of the largest online casino operators in Denmark, a market known as both well-regulated and high-value. Our industry is characterised by high levels of innovation and competition, and here we see the combination of RoyalCasino’s local expertise and LCKY’s international scale and iGaming pedigree as an excellent recipe for shared success. We look forward to introducing LCKY to our Danish customer base.”
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals before closing.
Looking ahead
The acquisition reflects a broader consolidation trend across regulated European iGaming, with operators pursuing scale through targeted M&A. Denmark’s Spillemyndigheden framework has attracted growing operator interest, with Stake securing a Danish licence in February 2026.
For LCKY Group, the deal builds on the momentum of its January 2026 rebrand and strengthens its competitive position across Nordic and broader European markets. Execution of the combined entity’s cross-market strategy will be closely watched as the group moves through the regulatory approval process.
