Roobet launches prediction markets as sector booms
Table of contents
- Roobet went live with prediction markets on May 6, becoming the first major crypto-first casino to offer the format natively within its platform.
- Players can access markets covering sports, culture, and global events using their existing Roobet accounts and balances, with no additional onboarding required.
- The launch arrives as the broader prediction markets sector posted around $8.6 billion in taker volume in April 2026 and the global crypto gambling market reported roughly $81 billion in gross gaming revenue in 2025.
Roobet has launched a fully integrated prediction markets product, going live on May 6, 2026, and launched a dedicated platform section called Predictions.
The crypto-first casino and sportsbook says the move makes it the first major crypto-first casino to offer prediction markets natively, broadening its product range beyond traditional casino games and sports betting.
Native integration
Unlike standalone platforms, Roobet has built its prediction markets directly into its existing ecosystem, meaning players can participate immediately using their current accounts and balances. There is no separate registration or wallet setup required, and a single wallet spans all gaming and prediction experiences.
The initial rollout covers markets tied to major upcoming global events, with planned expansion across sports, entertainment, and internet culture.
The platform already hosts over 7,000 casino titles and a fully featured sportsbook. The addition of prediction markets gives Roobet a three-vertical product suite under a single wallet, positioning it alongside dedicated prediction platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket as well as newer iGaming entrants building out the format.
Matt Duea, CEO at Roobet, said:
“Bringing prediction markets to Roobet is a natural evolution of our platform. I’m incredibly proud of the team for getting this feature live. We’re excited to give our players something new that adds another layer of engagement and entertainment to the experience, especially at a time when prediction markets are gaining so much momentum globally.”
Growing sector
The launch comes at a moment of rapid expansion across the prediction markets space. The sector posted around $8.6 billion in taker volume in April 2026, with Kalshi overtaking Polymarket to claim the top spot, according to on-chain data tracked by Dune Analytics.
Open interest across the sector stood at approximately $1.11 billion as of May 1, 2026, with Kalshi and Polymarket together holding about 98% of that total.
Roobet is not the only new entrant this week. Blockchain.com announced the launch of SnapMarkets on May 6, a platform for rapid-fire bitcoin price bets resolving every 30 seconds, with stakes starting at $1. The flurry of activity reflects how operators across crypto and iGaming are moving to capture a share of the format’s growth.
The prediction markets sector has also drawn significant regulatory attention. State gambling authorities have challenged platforms including Kalshi, Robinhood, Crypto.com, Polymarket, and Coinbase, and the CFTC has moved to defend its authority over event-contract markets.
Roobet operates under an offshore gaming licence and its prediction markets product is not directed at US users, which may insulate it from the state-versus-federal jurisdictional disputes currently playing out in American courts.
Crypto casino rise
Roobet’s expansion into prediction markets reflects a broader surge across the crypto casino segment. The global crypto gambling market reported roughly $81 billion in gross gaming revenue in 2025, compared to an estimated $16 billion just three years earlier.
Some industry models project annual revenue reaching $95 billion to $110 billion by 2026 and $150 billion by 2030.
Industry estimates suggest crypto casinos now account for nearly 17% of all iGaming bets globally, up from a negligible share five years ago. The largest operator in the space, Stake, is estimated to process around $10 billion in monthly bets, according to industry analyses.
Bitcoin still accounts for roughly 66% of transaction value in crypto gambling, while stablecoins, particularly USDT and USDC, are now the fastest-growing payment method by deposit share, eliminating the volatility risk that historically kept casual players away from the sector.
For Roobet, adding prediction markets is both a product play and a retention tool. As the format draws crypto-native users toward dedicated platforms such as Polymarket, integrating predictions within an existing casino and sportsbook ecosystem offers a direct route to keeping those users in-house.
