ICONIC21 has appointed Gary Francis as Director of Business Development, strengthening its commercial team at a pivotal stage of the iGaming content provider’s growth.

The move, announced on 6 August 2026, brings more than 15 years of operator and supplier side experience into ICONIC21’s leadership as the company widens its network of operators and prepares to enter new regulated markets.

Built on both sides

Gary Francis joins ICONIC21 after senior commercial roles spanning both the operator and supplier sides of the industry. Most recently, he was Head of Commercial and Head of Account Management at BetGames, where he managed commercial relationships and drove account growth across major markets.

Earlier in his career, Francis held positions at Pragmatic Play and bet365, building experience in player engagement, VIP account management and operational leadership. That dual perspective, operator and supplier, is central to the remit he takes on at ICONIC21.

Gary Francis, Director of Business Development at ICONIC21, said:

“ICONIC21 is at a really exciting stage. The products are strong, the team is ambitious, and what they’ve achieved in such a short space of time speaks for itself.

What attracted me was that it isn’t just big ambitions and promises – the company is already delivering. It felt like the right time to join, and I’m very much looking forward to being part of what comes next.”

Scale outpaces structure

The appointment lands as ICONIC21 scales on multiple fronts. Its live casino line continues to gain traction, its slots and RNG range is growing, and the company has been pushing product formats it describes as new to the market.

That combination of a widening portfolio and an expanding partner network is why ICONIC21 says experienced commercial leadership has become essential rather than optional at this stage.

Alina Mihaela Popa, Chief Commercial Officer at ICONIC21, said:

“Gary is the obvious person to take on this role since we are expanding quickly, our commercial pipeline is solid, and the regulated markets we plan to enter in the coming years need exactly the kind of experience and level of relationship that Gary has.

“He has worked at the top level with both operators and suppliers, and he knows what is required to set up and maintain the kind of partnerships that lead to long-term commercial growth. We are happy to have him joining us and are confident that his input will be highly noticeable.”

A crowded release calendar

Francis arrives on the back of a busy product cycle. ICONIC21 recently opened a dedicated live studio built for Stake, an 18-table build reflecting the operator’s branding throughout.

That momentum has carried into slots too. The supplier released Wild Gold Mine 2, its first title built as a franchise sequel, and rolled out a customisable Keno title offering three selectable risk levels. Its catalogue also went live on the Blue Ocean Gaming network this year, extending ICONIC21’s reach to a fresh set of operators.

Chief Product Officer Edvardas Sadovskis touched on the pace behind those launches in a recent interview, pointing to AI-assisted development as one factor behind ICONIC21’s growing RNG output, context that helps explain why the commercial side now needs its own dedicated leadership.

Eyes on new markets

ICONIC21’s commercial buildout coincides with its stated plans to enter a number of new regulated jurisdictions, though the company has not yet named specific markets or timelines. Francis’s dual grounding in operator relationship management and supplier side commercial strategy positions him to lead that expansion on both fronts.

The hire adds to a run of senior commercial appointments across the content provider segment this year, as suppliers compete for shelf space with operators entering newly regulated markets.
