  • The game combines expanding symbols and a split feature with a cartoon-edgy visual style the Tbilisi studio says breaks from its previous creative direction.
  • Thunderspin, which has a portfolio of more than 55 titles, is positioning Secret Party as a flagship release in its 2026 roadmap.

Thunderspin has launched Secret Party, a nightlife-themed slot that puts character mystery and narrative ambiguity at the centre of its design, marking what the Tbilisi-based studio describes as a significant shift in creative direction.

The concept

The setting is an exclusive secret gathering, a high-tension party populated by characters who appear familiar but are never fully unmasked. Their identities stay hidden behind stylised appearances throughout, and the game makes no attempt to resolve the mystery for the player.

That gap is the point: players are left to interpret the narrative, speculate about the characters, and put together their own reading of events.

It is a relatively uncommon structural choice for a slot. Most titles in this space treat theme as decoration. Secret Party treats it as the actual game loop, with curiosity doing work that bonus features usually handle alone.

The visual execution pairs a cartoon aesthetic with a deliberately edgy, slightly provocative atmosphere. The studio says the look is designed to stand out in a casino lobby rather than blend into it.

In the weeks before launch, Thunderspin ran a teaser campaign that deliberately withheld details from players and industry contacts, using cryptic messaging and a studied absence of clear answers to build anticipation.

Gameplay and mechanics

On the mechanical side, Secret Party is built on a dynamic winning combinations system, supported by expanding symbols and a split feature. The combination is designed to keep the game in motion, with outcomes staying unpredictable across sessions.

Paata Barbakadze, Head of Marketing at Thunderspin, said:

“This is only the beginning. The company will continue to surprise and entertain users with new themes, innovative ideas, and exciting products.”

Barbakadze described Secret Party as a departure from the studio’s previous direction, built to deliver what he called a relevant experience for players. The company has positioned the title as a key project in its 2026 portfolio.

What it signals

Thunderspin is a relatively compact studio with a growing operator network. The decision to anchor a flagship release around a narrative concept rather than a mechanics-first hook is a deliberate creative bet.

Studios of this size can reiterate fast, and Secret Party looks like an attempt to use that agility to claim territory that is genuinely underexplored in slots.

The game’s commercial performance across operator integrations will test whether player curiosity, sustained across a session, can function as a retention driver in the way that free spins rounds or hold-and-win features traditionally have.
