SBC Summit Malta 2026 delivered its strongest edition yet, closing on 30 April with record attendance at the InterContinental Hotel in Malta. The three-day event brought together 6,000 iGaming professionals from 65 countries, cementing its status as one of the sector’s key annual gatherings.

High-intent audience

Operators and affiliates accounted for 65% of total attendance, creating a buyer-heavy environment that organisers say directly benefited exhibitors and sponsors. Leading operators represented on site included Betfred, bet365, Betsson Group, Betway, Casumo, Entain Group, Flutter Entertainment, Kaizen Gaming (Betano), Kindred Group, LeoVegas Group and Videoslots.

Major affiliate groups were also present, among them Better Collective, Catena Media, Gambling.com Group, Gentoo Media, Oddschecker, Raketech and XLMedia.

The exhibition floor operated on a meeting-driven model, with pre-arranged appointments facilitated through the official SBC Connect app. The set-up gave exhibitors and sponsors direct access to budget holders and senior decision-makers, rather than relying on passive footfall. Technology providers and suppliers represented on the expo floor included Alea, BetConstruct, Aurum Solutions, VallettaPay and Qore, alongside operators 1xBet and Betwinner.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and Founder of SBC, said:

“We’re incredibly proud of how this edition came together. Delivering record attendance while maintaining such strong audience quality is a huge achievement, and we’re grateful to everyone who contributed to making it such a positive and collaborative experience for the industry.”

Senior policymakers also attended, including Minister Silvio Schembri and Dr Alex Agius Saliba, underlining Malta’s ongoing significance as a regulatory and operational hub for the global iGaming industry.

Conference and content

The conference programme spanned dedicated tracks covering marketing, product and compliance, with sessions addressing regulation, player engagement, product innovation and the growing role of AI and data-driven decision-making.

Day two shifted to workshops and hands-on sessions, designed to move delegates from insight to practical application — a format that organisers say drew strong positive feedback from attendees.

Speakers included Francesco Postiglione, CEO of Casumo; Ivan Filletti, CEO of GamingMalta; Alexandre Tomic, Founder and CEO of Alea; Sam Brown, CEO of Rootz; Tom McGovern, Chief Operating Officer at Flutter UKI; Kinga Warda, Chief Officer of Policy and International Affairs at the Malta Gaming Authority; Johan Styren, CEO and Founder of Dilanti Media; and Marco Trucco, Chief Marketing Officer at Immense Group.

Market-specific content covered key jurisdictions including Malta, Germany, Italy, the UK, the Netherlands and Finland, alongside sessions on emerging opportunities and regulatory developments across global markets.

Beyond the show floor

The event extended into a full networking programme, including a golf tournament at Royal Malta Golf Club, a padel competition at IK Padel Village, a boat party and the SBC Awards Europe ceremony at Xara Lodge, where Kaizen Gaming led all winners on the night. A Women Empowerment Breakfast Meet-up and a poker tournament at Casino Malta rounded out the social calendar.

Sojmark added:

“Malta has a special place in our heart, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see all the hard work from the team come together. The result is an event that truly delivered for the industry, both in terms of connections and business opportunities.”

With the Malta summit concluded, SBC’s 2026 calendar continues with events in Toronto (19–21 May), Fort Lauderdale (9–11 June) and Tbilisi (15–16 July), before the flagship SBC Summit returns to Lisbon on 29 September–1 October.
