PG Soft has appointed Hugo Baungartner as General Manager LatAm, handing him responsibility for the supplier’s commercial expansion across Latin America and its strategy in Brazil.
The announcement comes as the content supplier looks to build on what it describes as a significant share of the Brazilian market.
Built in Brazil
Baungartner has spent nearly three decades navigating Brazil’s gaming and technology sectors. He most recently served as chief business officer at Esportes Gaming Brasil, the operator behind Esportes da Sorte, stepping down from the role at the end of June.
He has also held leadership positions at Grupo Aposta Ganha, where he served as chief commercial officer, and at RCT Gaming. According to PG Soft, his career spans technology and gaming roles across both Latin American and Asian markets.
Hugo Baungartner, General Manager LatAm at PG Soft, said:
“PG Soft’s brand needs no introduction in Latin America thanks to its extensive portfolio of world-class, mobile-first games that resonate strongly with players. The company is only just getting started in the region, and I look forward to building on its success in Brazil while expanding PG Soft’s presence across regulated markets throughout Latin America.”
Doors already open
PG Soft pointed specifically to Baungartner’s relationships across the region’s regulatory landscape. These include contacts at Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA/MF), the Federal Revenue Service and COAF, Brazil’s financial intelligence unit.
His network also extends into Mexico, spanning the Dirección General de Juegos y Sorteos and AIEJA, the Mexican gaming association. Suppliers have been paying closer attention to Mexico’s developing iGaming market, and a contact book that spans both countries gives PG Soft a head start in each.
Beyond Brazil
PG Soft has steadily expanded its footprint across Latin America through 2025 and into 2026, positioning Brazil as its anchor market in the region. That market has grown quickly since legalisation, with Brazil’s regulated betting sector collecting nearly R$10bn in its first full year.
The supplier has not disclosed specific commercial targets tied to Baungartner’s appointment.
Suppliers chasing growth in Latin America are increasingly hiring for regulatory know-how rather than just sales experience, particularly in Brazil, where licensing and compliance requirements for operators and their content partners keep tightening.
