Greentube has entered the Czech Republic’s B2C online gaming market through the full acquisition of Kingsbet CZ, an established local sportsbook and casino operator.
Announced today on 5 May 2026 from Vienna and Prague, the deal represents a further step in Greentube’s expansion across regulated European markets and gives the company its first directly operated, player-facing business in the country.
Czech market context
The Czech Republic is one of Central Europe’s more mature regulated online gambling jurisdictions. According to official Czech Ministry of Finance data, the market generated total GGR of CZK 68 billion (€2.7 billion) in 2025. Online gambling accounted for 59.2% of that total, reflecting the channel’s dominant position within the overall market.
Kingsbet CZ is the online brand of Kings Entertainment A.S., a land-based casino group that has operated in the Czech Republic since 2003 and holds approximately 40% of the country’s land-based casino market.
The platform offers sports betting and casino products and operates under a Czech regulatory licence. Greentube said the acquisition provides the company with local operational expertise and market knowledge to support its long-term ambitions in the country.
Strategic fit
For Greentube, the deal offers immediate local infrastructure including an existing licence, an established team and a live player base, rather than a greenfield market entry. The company, which recently expanded its content footprint in regulated markets through a New Jersey partnership with PlayStar, continues a pattern of targeted expansion in jurisdictions with clear regulatory frameworks.
The acquisition also fits within a broader trend of NOVOMATIC group entities reinforcing their positions across regulated Europe. Earlier in 2025, Tipico completed its purchase of Admiral Austria from NOVOMATIC in a separate deal.
Ronald van den Brink, Chief Commercial Officer at Greentube, said:
“Entering the Czech market is a natural step in our long-term growth strategy. The Czech Republic stands among the most advanced and well-regulated gaming markets in Europe. By joining forces with Kingsbet, we are gaining a strong local team that will support our expansion.”
David Vaněk, CEO of Kingsbet, added:
“We are excited to join the Greentube group. This partnership brings us growth and investment opportunities, and access to advanced technology and globally renowned game studios. It will allow us to deliver an even stronger player experience and continue growing in the Czech Republic.”
No financial terms were disclosed. The agreement is subject to certain conditions, including regulatory approvals.
What comes next
Once regulatory clearance is obtained, Greentube will gain a fully operational B2C presence in a market that has seen consistent online growth. For operators and investors watching Central European expansion, the deal signals Greentube’s intent to compete directly at player level and not only as a B2B supplier in regulated jurisdictions with strong online penetration rates.
Further consolidation in the Czech market cannot be ruled out as international operators seek compliant footholds ahead of anticipated regulatory tightening across the region.
