Experienced international finance executive

Marcus Arildsson is a senior finance professional with more than 25 years’ experience in investment banking, equity markets, and corporate finance. His career began at Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch in London, where he worked on more than €9 billion in mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and equity-linked transactions.

Codere Online’s CEO, Aviv Sher, commented:

“Marcus is a seasoned financial executive whose leadership and experience will be invaluable as we continue executing our plan. We also thank Oscar for his many contributions and for ensuring a seamless transition; we look forward to his continued involvement at the Board level.”

Chairman of the Board, Gonzaga Higuero, added:

“On behalf of the Board, I am pleased to welcome Marcus to Codere Online. His extensive experience in corporate finance and investment banking, combined with his international background, make him an exceptional addition to our leadership team.”

A strategic appointment for growth

Codere Online, part of the Codere Group, operates online sports betting and casino services primarily across Spain and Latin America. The appointment of Mr Arildsson reflects the company’s focus on strengthening its finances as it pursues expansion in these key markets.

The transition also brings enhanced board-level expertise with Oscar Iglesias joining as a director following his CFO tenure, supporting the company’s strategic oversight.

This leadership change will be important to investors and industry observers monitoring Codere Online as it navigates competitive market conditions and seeks sustainable growth. Mr Arildsson’s experience is expected to aid the company in achieving its operational and financial objectives.
