BGaming has partnered with Júlio César, one of Brazil’s most decorated former goalkeepers, signing the iconic shot-stopper as the studio deepens its push into Latin America ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The deal was revealed at SiGMA South America in São Paulo this April, where Júlio César signed the agreement in person at the BGaming booth. A public autograph and photo session drew more than 200 visitors and strong attention from partners, media, and fans.
A certified icon
Júlio César earned 87 international caps for Brazil and was selected for the 2006, 2010, and 2014 FIFA World Cups. At club level, he spent seven years at Inter Milan, where he won five Serie A titles, the 2009–10 UEFA Champions League, and the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup as part of José Mourinho‘s treble-winning squad.
His cultural profile in Brazil makes him a natural fit for a studio targeting Latin American growth. BGaming had already built regional presence through a charity stream with Brazilian streamer Jon Vlogs in December 2025.
Game and timing
The commercial output of the deal is Penalty Duel with Júlio César, a casual title due for release in June 2026. Players take the role of the penalty kicker, scoring goals to land multipliers in a gameplay format built on timing and precision.
Two features define the product. The Chance mechanic raises the probability of triggering the Golden Ball, boosting scoring opportunities. The Buy Bonus option unlocks a dedicated round of penalty kicks with Júlio César set against a Rio beach backdrop.
The June release date is well-timed. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicking off that summer across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, demand for football-themed content across Latin American markets is expected to peak.
Kate Pateiko, CMO at BGaming, said:
“Júlio César is a true legend of Brazilian football, and we are proud to welcome him as a partner. This collaboration goes far beyond a traditional endorsement, it’s about integrating his legacy directly into the product experience.
With Penalty Duel featuring Júlio César, we are creating a game that feels authentic, culturally relevant, and deeply connected to football passion, especially in Brazil. As we continue to strengthen our presence in LATAM, partnerships like this help us engage new audiences and deliver experiences that truly resonate.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the horizon, the timing makes this launch even more exciting.”
LATAM strategy sharpens
The Júlio César deal fits within a broader BGaming push into Latin America, where Brazil’s regulated betting market continues to attract supplier investment following the country’s full licensing framework coming into effect in 2025.
The studio’s PokerStars deal extended its portfolio across one of the region’s most prominent platforms, and the Júlio César activation signals that athlete-led content is becoming a deliberate commercial strategy for the studio rather than a one-off move.
