Crypto betting platform BC.Game has appointed Kar Kheng Giam as its new Chief Executive Officer, tasking him with leading the platform through a period of regulatory and commercial complexity for both the company and the broader crypto gambling sector.
The appointment was announced today on 25 March 2026.
A tech-first hire
Known within the industry as “KK“, Giam brings more than three decades of senior leadership experience spanning gaming, technology and consumer businesses across Asia-Pacific, the United States and Europe.
He started in gaming in 2012, co-founding mobile game development companies Topgame and Tinymobi, which developed casino and social games including slots-style titles. Earlier in his career, he held regional leadership roles at Nabisco across Asia, giving him deep operational experience in consumer-facing businesses at scale.
He subsequently moved into biotechnology, joining Beijing-based firm Coyote Bioscience, which operates across AI, big data, reagents and system platforms. There, he served as Vice President of International, leading global expansion initiatives, before moving to a consultancy role.
That combination of gaming entrepreneurship, consumer brand management, and tech and AI experience appears well suited to BC.Game’s stated strategic priorities.
Kar Kheng Giam, Chief Executive Officer at BC.Game, said:
“BC.Game has built a strong global community by combining innovative technology with engaging entertainment experiences. With increasing demand for transparent, user-focused platforms and growing adoption of crypto in online gaming, we are well positioned to scale responsibly. My focus will be on strengthening our presence in regulated markets, enhancing the platform experience and continuing to build trust with our users.”
A complex inheritance
Giam takes the helm at an inflection point for BC.Game and the wider crypto betting sector. Tax increases across Europe and Latin America are squeezing traditional fiat operators, and national regulators including the UK Gambling Commission and the Dutch KSA have sharpened their focus on unlicensed operations.
In the UK, BC.Game is most visible through football. The platform holds the front-of-shirt sponsorship for Leicester City FC, the EFL Championship club and former Premier League champions.
The prevalence of unlicensed betting companies in English football has become a talking point for regulators and legislators, with a government consultation under way on banning such sponsors from British sport.
Questions around the platform’s operating model have persisted. BC.Game held a Curaçao licence for several years, but a legal dispute with the regulator and reported insolvency proceedings against related operating entities led to a change of jurisdiction.
The platform now operates under a licence from Anjouan, in the Indian Ocean, alongside licences in Nigeria, Kenya, Mexico and Tanzania. It is actively pursuing further regulatory approvals as part of a longer-term global licensing strategy.
What comes next
The appointment of an internationally executive shows BC.Game’s ambitions in an increasingly regulated landscape. Giam’s track record navigating complex regulatory environments could prove of help to the operator.
Yolo Group, the operator behind Bitcasino and Sportsbet.io, recently committed to a full transition toward licensed markets. The industry consensus is that the grey-market model which defined crypto betting’s early growth is reaching its limits.
