Underdog has become the first US-based operator to deploy Bettor Sense, Sportradar’s AI-powered responsible gaming solution designed to identify players exhibiting problem gambling behavior.

The partnership between the two sports-focused firms is a major step forward in proactive player protection measures within the American gaming market.

Bettor Sense uses artificial intelligence to monitor player behavior patterns and detect early warning signs of gambling-related risks, enabling operators to implement personalized interventions before problems escalate.

The comprehensive program extends beyond detection technology to include access to clinical treatment services through Birches Health, a national provider specializing in evidence-based gambling disorder treatment.

Launched just two months ago in July 2025, Bettor Sense represents Sportradar’s latest advancement in responsible gaming technology.

The solution operates through continuous learning algorithms that provide real-time risk score assessments while maintaining full regulatory compliance. The system’s foundation in behavioral research enables efficient monitoring across all gaming activities.

“Collaborating with Sportradar to integrate Bettor Sense is another step in Underdog’s proactive approach to enhanced player protection across all entry types,” said Adam Warrington, Underdog VP of Responsible Gaming.

“The integration of this leading player protection technology to detect problem play and provide clear resources to those who need it, now including treatment services from the clinicians at Birches Health, is a significant step forward for our players.”

Jim Brown, Head of Integrity Services & Athlete Wellbeing at Sportradar, commented:

“We applaud Underdog for taking this meaningful step to not only safeguard, but also to provide resources to players who exhibit potential problem gaming behavior. Sportradar’s expertise and innovative solutions are designed to not only address the needs of our clients but also support a secure and sustainable industry.”

Sportradar’s technology portfolio already serves major sports organizations including the NBA, NHL, MLB, UEFA, and FIFA, covering over one million events annually. The company’s expansion into AI-powered responsible gaming solutions shows commitment to protecting sports integrity across all touchpoints.

The collaboration between Underdog and Sportradar signals a broader industry shift toward technology-driven solutions for problem gambling prevention.
