- The deal marks tombola’s biggest coordinated game release since the launch of tombola arcade in 2016, with rights extending beyond the UK market.
Flutter Entertainment-owned tombola has launched five Monopoly-branded bingo games in partnership with Hasbro, completing the operator’s biggest coordinated game release since 2016.
All five titles were designed, developed and built entirely in-house by tombola’s studio team.
Biggest launch since 2016
The suite includes a flagship board-led bingo experience, a faster-paced picture bingo format using iconic Monopoly symbols, and a selection of instant-win and arcade-style games. The release represents tombola’s largest coordinated launch since tombola arcade in 2016, and was secured following what Hasbro described as a rigorous, competitive process.
tombola was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Sunderland. It operates primarily in the UK and Ireland under the Flutter Entertainment group, maintaining a strict policy of exclusive in-house development across its product portfolio.
Karl Wood, director of technology at tombola, said:
“This partnership with Hasbro is a major milestone for tombola and a clear endorsement of our capabilities as a bingo operator and game studio. Monopoly is one of the most iconic brands in the world and being trusted to bring it to life in bingo, following a rigorous, competitive process, speaks to the strength of our product, our player‑first approach and our long‑term vision.
“We’ve built every element of this portfolio in‑house, reimagining Monopoly through innovative bingo and arcade mechanics while staying true to what makes the brand so enduring. Just as importantly, the licence gives us the opportunity to scale beyond the UK, supporting both our consumer offering and our B2B distribution across the wider Flutter Bingo Network.
“This isn’t just a game launch for us. It’s a strategic step forward in delivering truly differentiated, best‑in‑class bingo experiences.”
International B2B potential
tombola holds the online bingo rights for the Monopoly brand beyond the UK. Wood described scaling the games across the Flutter Bingo Network as a key part of the deal’s strategic rationale, though no specific markets or timelines for international rollout have been confirmed.
Hasbro has been expanding its gaming licensing activity broadly. The toy maker has multi-year agreements with Evolution, Aristocrat Gaming, Galaxy Gaming and Bally’s Interactive covering online live casino, slots and land-based formats. The tombola deal is separate, covering online bingo as a distinct vertical.
Claire Hunter Gregson, director of digital licensing at Hasbro, said:
“When it comes to choosing a partner, I never simply ‘Pass Go’ without due diligence. tombola is truly best‑in‑class at online bingo experiences – a shining example of expertise and player experience done right.
“At Hasbro, we seek the very finest partners in every vertical, and we’re perfectly content to wait for the most opportune moment – the one that’s just right for both sides. With tombola, that moment has arrived.”
Flutter’s bingo ambitions
Flutter acquired tombola for an enterprise value of £402m, describing it at the time as the UK market’s leading online bingo operator.
The Monopoly launch signals continued investment in tombola’s product roadmap, with the branded suite positioned as a differentiator in an increasingly competitive UK online gaming market.
tombola already operates in regulated markets including Italy and Spain, where it holds active licences. Whether the Monopoly-branded titles will be extended to those markets has not been confirmed; Wood’s comments indicated this remains a future opportunity rather than an immediate rollout.
