Sportradar has agreed a multi-year global partnership with prediction market operator Kalshi, positioning the sports technology company as an official data and solutions provider across major US sports leagues.
The agreement delivers a broad portfolio of premium sports content and services across major sports properties including MLB, NHL, MLS and UFC, among others.
It also establishes the ability for Sportradar to enter into agreements directly with Kalshi’s key partners, including brokers and market makers.
Sportradar is an official data rights partner to several major North American leagues, a position that underpins its ability to supply licensed content to emerging prediction market clients.
Data and solutions
Sportradar will provide Kalshi with official sports data and live odds to power pre-game and in-play markets, fan engagement solutions including real-time scores and data visualisations, and customer acquisition and marketing services.
Integrity tools include Sportradar UFDS AI, which detects suspicious behaviour, and Sportradar Integrity Exchange, which enables participants to share integrity threats through a secure network.
Carsten Koerl, Chief Executive Officer of Sportradar, said:
“Prediction markets represent a compelling growth engine for the global sports ecosystem and Sportradar is uniquely positioned to shape and power this emerging sector. Our partnership with Kalshi extends the reach of our premium sports data and services into a rapidly evolving landscape, fostering collaboration with market makers and the broader marketplace.”
Tarek Mansour, co-founder and CEO of Kalshi, said:
“The breadth and depth of this partnership is what makes it a big deal. We’re using official league data to ensure quicker trade settlements, creating an overall better customer experience. We’re also collaborating on an integrity monitoring program to further protect our users.”
League data push
The deal arrives as Sportradar deepens its commercial presence across the prediction market sector. The company has recently signalled a stronger focus on the space, with Koerl previously highlighting Sportradar’s intent to establish a trusted, compliant framework for sports innovation in prediction markets, mirroring its role in online sports betting.
The NHL was among the first major professional US sports leagues to announce multiyear deals with prediction market platforms, signing with both Kalshi and Polymarket.
MLB, MLS and UFC content also features in the Sportradar-Kalshi agreement, delivered via Sportradar’s official data rights portfolio rather than through separate direct league deals with Kalshi.
Legal pressure
Kalshi, founded in 2018, is the world’s largest prediction market and is credited with legalising and establishing prediction markets as a financial asset class in the US.
The partnership comes as Kalshi navigates significant legal pressure across multiple US states. Washington state sued Kalshi in March, alleging the company violated state gambling laws, following Nevada securing a temporary restraining order forcing Kalshi to halt sports, election and entertainment contracts in that state.
The CFTC filed suit against Arizona in April, arguing the state was violating federal law by attempting to regulate Kalshi, with a federal judge subsequently blocking the state attorney general from pursuing criminal charges against the platform. The federal-versus-state jurisdiction clash remains unresolved.
Sportradar noted it will provide products and services to Kalshi and other licensed prediction market entities that operate in compliance with applicable regulations and legal requirements.
That carve-out is pointed: by anchoring its offering to licensed, compliant operators, Sportradar is threading the needle between a fast-growing commercial opportunity and a sector that still has much of its regulatory framework to settle.
