SBC Summit Malta opens its doors next week as the island prepares to host one of European iGaming’s most commercially focused gatherings.

Running from 28 to 30 April at the InterContinental Hotel in St Julian’s, the event is expected to bring together 6,000 betting and gaming professionals from across the globe.

A high-value audience

With over 2,000 operator representatives registered, the event carries strong commercial weight. Nearly 38% of last year’s attendees held C-level or senior leadership positions, reflecting the summit’s appeal to decision-makers rather than general industry delegates.

A further 1,000 affiliates focused on traffic acquisition are also expected, alongside a supplier ecosystem spanning platform providers, game studios, martech firms and payment service providers.

Last year, 47% of the audience was Malta-based, with the remainder travelling in from international markets. That mix makes the event a rare opportunity for both locally based operators and global companies to conduct business under one roof.

What’s on the agenda

The conference programme is built around a two-phase structure. Day one is oriented towards strategy, with tracks including Marketing Unplugged, Product Visionaries, and Risk, Regulation and Resilience. Day two shifts to execution, with sessions under Marketing in Action, Product in Practice, and Policy to Practice.

Standout sessions include a CEO Chat Show, a CMO Review, and a dedicated Market Disruption track covering key European markets such as Malta, Germany, Italy, the UK, the Netherlands and Finland, alongside spotlight coverage of emerging markets.

Artificial intelligence is a central theme this year. A dedicated session titled “AI in Gaming: Shaping the Industry’s First AI Charter” reflects a broader push at the event to move beyond surface-level AI discussion toward practical implementation.

Separate AI-focused workshops are designed to walk attendees through real-world use cases in operations, HR and decision-making.

The speaker roster includes 200 industry figures, among them Francesco Postiglione, CEO of Casumo; Ivan Filletti, CEO of Gaming in Malta; and Kim Dalli, Head of PR and Communications at the Malta Gaming Authority.

On the show floor, companies including Alea, BetConstruct, Cloudflare, SEON and Smartico are among the exhibitors showcasing their latest products. Structured meeting spaces are available through the SBC Connect Lounge, supported by the SBC Connect app for pre-arranged appointments.

Networking and awards

Evening events are a key part of the format. The Opening Party takes place on Tuesday 28 April at LUMI Restaurant, VOCO Hotel, followed by the Official Party at Infinity by Hugo on Wednesday. The event closes on Thursday 30 April with the Closing Party at Open Waters.

SBC Awards Europe also returns this year, moving to a new venue at Xara Lodge on Thursday evening. Hosted by football presenter Alison Bender, the ceremony will present 35 awards recognising the best in European betting and gaming. A separate ticket is required.

New additions for 2026 include a boat party, a golf tournament at the Royal Malta Golf Club, and a padel tournament at IK Padel Village, all held on Tuesday for limited numbers. C-suite operators and affiliates are invited to exclusive VIP dinners, with a poker tournament also open to registered delegates on Thursday.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and Founder of SBC, said:

“We’ve designed SBC Summit Malta to deliver real value, not just through the content, but through the quality of the audience and the opportunities to connect. It’s about bringing the right people together in an environment where business actually gets done. I’d also like to thank our exhibitors, sponsors, speakers and attendees who play a key role in making this event what it is.”

Looking ahead

With operators under sustained pressure from rising tax burdens, tightening regulation and evolving player behaviour across European markets, the summit’s emphasis on practical strategy carries particular weight in 2026.

Sessions examining tax hikes, player migration and black market dynamics reflect the immediate concerns facing executives attending the event. The full programme and remaining ticket availability can be found on the SBC Events website. Operators and affiliates are eligible for complimentary passes.
