PointsBet Canada taps Bede for iCasino platform

PointsBet Canada has launched a new casino aggregation and bonusing platform in partnership with Bede Gaming, following a competitive selection process.
The solution went live within the operator’s Ontario player environment on April 29, expanding the content library available on pointsbet.ca.
Ontario platform
The Ontario-based sportsbook and casino operator powers its pointsbet.ca brand through a proprietary platform originally developed by its Australian parent company. It sought an external provider to deliver content aggregation and player engagement capabilities suited to Canada’s regulated iGaming market.
Bede’s open-API aggregation platform gives PointsBet Canada access to a casino catalogue that includes Games Global, Pragmatic Play, Play’n GO, and Light & Wonder, among others. The platform also delivers promotion management tools, advanced campaign workflows, and automated player lifecycle segmentation, with the aim of improving player acquisition and long-term retention.
Bede will provide infrastructure with 99.99% uptime and 24/7 monitoring from its Network Operations Centre.
Scott Vanderwel, Chief Executive Officer of PointsBet Canada, said:
“Our strategy emphasizes delivering outstanding digital content that creates exceptional player engagement. I’m excited by the innovative tools we now have available with Bede. This partnership positions us strongly in Ontario and prepares us for future growth across additional Canadian markets.”
Alberta roadmap
In addition to powering PointsBet’s iCasino offering in Ontario, the multi-year agreement establishes a shared roadmap for future provincial launches, including Alberta, as new regulated markets emerge in Canada. The announcement comes as PointsBet Canada marks its fourth anniversary as a licensed iGaming operator in Ontario.
The operator is among those preparing to enter Alberta when the province’s open iGaming market launches on July 13, 2026. Bede Gaming, part of the MERKUR GROUP, is already registered with the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis regulator, alongside its existing licences from the UK Gambling Commission, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, and the Malta Gaming Authority.
Colin Cole-Johnson, Bede Chief Executive Officer, said:
“We are thrilled to partner with the PointsBet Canada team, and eager to support their ambitious goals in Canada. Our Partnership Model means that we mobilise to support the strategies of our customers, and we’re thrilled to already be demonstrating this through the successful launch of this new casino solution. Bede remains committed to providing stable, secure and pioneering technical solutions to the North American regulated gaming markets.”
For PointsBet Canada, supplementing its proprietary platform with third-party aggregation reflects a broader industry shift toward best-of-breed infrastructure as competition in Ontario’s regulated market intensifies. With Bede’s AGLC registration already in place, both companies are positioned to move quickly when Alberta opens its doors in July.
