Meridianbet has extended its title sponsorship agreement with EuroLeague basketball club Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) through 2030. The multi-year renewal continues a partnership established in January 2023.
The sports betting and iGaming operator, which holds licences in 18 jurisdictions, is a subsidiary of NASDAQ-listed Golden Matrix Group Inc. (NASDAQ: GMGI). The company maintains operations across Europe, Africa, and South America.
Partnership spans all club competitions
Under the extended agreement, the Serbian club will continue competing as “Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet” across all competitions, including the EuroLeague, ABA League, and Serbian League. Meridianbet branding features on team jerseys and throughout Belgrade Arena.
The EuroLeague operates as a 20-team competition spanning 12 countries, with a reported global fanbase exceeding 90 million.
The tournament serves as the primary European talent pipeline to the NBA. Crvena Zvezda’s notable alumni include Hall of Famers Vlade Divac and Peja Stojakovic.
Zoran Milosevic, CEO of Meridianbet, said:
“Extending our title sponsorship with Crvena Zvezda through 2030 reflects our commitment to long-term brand building in markets where basketball is more than a sport—it’s a way of life for fans, players, and entire communities.
“As we scale Meridianbet’s operations across 18 jurisdictions, partnerships with premier sports properties like Crvena Zvezda create sustained visibility with audiences that align with our customer demographics.”
Brand activation across Balkan markets
The partnership has delivered brand activation across Meridianbet’s core Balkan markets, including Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro. The collaboration has supported corporate social responsibility initiatives ranging from youth basketball development to responsible gaming education programmes integrated into club communications.
Founded in 1945, Crvena Zvezda holds 24 Serbian national championships, 14 national cups, and seven ABA League titles. The club plays home matches at the 18,000-capacity Belgrade Arena.
Strategic focus on basketball-first markets
The deal reflects Meridianbet’s strategic approach to markets where basketball commands cultural relevance and media reach. Sports sponsorship agreements in basketball-focused territories provide operators with sustained visibility among target demographics.
Title sponsorships in European basketball have become increasingly prevalent as operators seek long-term brand positioning in regulated markets. The extension through 2030 positions the partnership among the longest-running private-sector title sponsorships in European basketball.
Golden Matrix Group operates B2B gaming technology services through GMAG and Expanse Studios, alongside B2C brands including RKings, Mexplay, and Meridianbet. The Las Vegas-based company trades on NASDAQ under the ticker GMGI.
The extended agreement provides Meridianbet with continued exposure across EuroLeague broadcasts and digital platforms as the club competes against Europe’s top basketball organisations.
The 2025-26 EuroLeague season features clubs from Spain, Greece, Turkey, Germany, France, and other major European markets.
