IGT progressive slots pay out over $11.5m in the US in April
- IGT’s Megabucks, Powerbucks, and Wheel of Fortune networks awarded four major jackpots in April, totaling more than $11.5m in the US and over CAD$2m in Canada.
- A single $5 bet triggered a $10,486,432.04 Megabucks jackpot at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on April 1, per IGT.
- A win at Casino du Lac-Leamy on April 24 pushed IGT’s Powerbucks network past CAD$100m in cumulative jackpot payouts since its 2016 Canadian debut.
IGT’s flagship progressive slot networks awarded four multi-million-dollar jackpots across the US and Canada in April, with total payouts exceeding $11.5m in the US and more than CAD$2m in Canada, according to the company.
The wins spanned land-based and online channels, with hits recorded in Nevada, California, and Quebec. The month’s results add to a sustained run of significant payouts from IGT’s wide-area progressive portfolio.
$10.5m Mandalay Bay win
The standout result came on April 1, when an anonymous player placed a $5 wager on a Megabucks Triple Red Hot 7s Spitfire Multipliers machine at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and won $10,486,432.04. IGT confirmed the payout in an official announcement on April 3.
The Megabucks network, which has been awarding jackpots since 1986, operates across a wide-area linked system in Nevada. Players must place the maximum qualifying bet to be eligible for the top progressive prize.
On April 23, a player at Sky River Casino in Elk Grove, California, set a casino record with a $1,099,735.94 win on Wheel of Fortune Cash Link Big Money, per IGT.
Powerbucks tops CAD$100m
Canada accounted for two of the four wins, both on the Powerbucks network in Quebec. On April 5, an online Powerbucks player won CAD$1,771,204.60 on Wheel of Fortune Hawaiian Getaway.
On April 24, a player at Casino du Lac-Leamy won CAD$1,156,696.51 on Powerbucks Wheel of Fortune Cash Link Big Money. IGT confirmed the win pushed Powerbucks past CAD$100m in total cumulative payouts since the network’s Canadian debut in 2016.
The Powerbucks network has paid out more than 77 jackpots of CAD$1m or more since launching in Canada, establishing it as one of the primary vehicles for large-scale progressive wins across both online and land-based channels in the market.
Wheel of Fortune milestones
The April results add to the long-term record of IGT’s Wheel of Fortune slot brand. Per IGT, the titles have produced more than 1,200 millionaires and awarded over $3.6 billion in jackpots since launching in 1996.
The brand’s performance across physical casino floors and online platforms in regulated markets such as Quebec reflects the continued commercial relevance of legacy progressive titles. IGT, formed through the combination of International Game Technology PLC’s Gaming and Digital business and Everi Holdings, continues to operate one of the broadest progressive jackpot networks in North America.
The company is navigating post-merger restructuring that included approximately 700 job cuts earlier this year.
For casino operators, progressive jackpot performance remains a meaningful driver of floor traffic and player engagement. The frequency and scale of IGT’s April payouts show a clear commercial case for wide-area networked titles among US and Canadian brands.
