HIPTHER Positions Vilnius at the Centre of Europe’s Fintech Growth with New Annual Fintech Summit

HIPTHER has announced that its Vilnius event will evolve into the HIPTHER Fintech Summit, a new annual pan-European gathering dedicated to fintech and financial technology growth, following the successful debut of HIPTHER Baltics: Vilnius 2026 on 21 April 2026.

The announcement positions Vilnius as a permanent home for European-level fintech dialogue, with the summit designed to bring together fintech leaders, regulators, banking innovators, investors, and payment infrastructure providers each year.

From Baltics series to fintech anchor

The debut edition, held at the Hilton Garden Inn Vilnius City Centre, drew senior professionals from across the iGaming, fintech, and regulatory sectors. Sessions explored Lithuania’s evolving regulatory environment, open banking leadership, MiCA readiness, next-generation payments, blockchain infrastructure, AI in finance, and the future of cross-border digital services.

HIPTHER’s Baltics-focused series had already replaced the longstanding MARE BALTICUM Gaming & TECH Summit format, introducing country-specific gatherings designed to deliver deeper, jurisdiction-specific insight. The Vilnius event sat at the heart of that model, with organisers describing Lithuania as undergoing a significant regulatory reset as rapid fintech expansion coincides with tighter oversight.

The new HIPTHER Fintech Summit takes that focus further, dropping the Baltics branding in favour of a pan-European scope dedicated exclusively to financial technology.

Lithuania’s fintech credentials

Lithuania has spent the past decade building one of Europe’s most active fintech ecosystems, attracting payment institutions, electronic money institutions, blockchain businesses, challenger banking operations, and compliance-focused technology firms.

The country’s progressive regulatory environment, strong digital infrastructure, and access to European markets have made Vilnius an increasingly prominent destination for fintech investment and talent. Lithuania is moving toward stricter supervision in banking, fintech, blockchain, and iGaming, shaping the regulatory context the new summit aims to address.

Topics confirmed for future editions span open banking and account-to-account payments, cross-border financial infrastructure, EMI and digital banking growth, embedded finance, AI in financial services, blockchain and tokenisation, cybersecurity, and fintech investment strategy.

Zoltán Tündik, Co-Founder and Head of Business at HIPTHER, said:

“Vilnius has proven to be the perfect home for this vision. By launching the HIPTHER Fintech Summit, we are establishing a dedicated annual anchor for the European fintech community to gather, collaborate, and navigate the complex but exciting intersection of technology and regulation in a city that truly lives and breathes innovation.”

What comes next

The inaugural official edition of the HIPTHER Fintech Summit is scheduled to take place in Vilnius in 2027, with dates and registration details to be announced.

The 2026 Vilnius event, which served as the launchpad for the concept, featured more than 30 speakers and drew over 100 senior attendees covering more than 15 key industry topics.

For fintech and payments firms weighing European hub strategies, the emergence of a dedicated annual summit in Vilnius adds to the signals that Lithuania is consolidating its position as a serious regulatory and innovation jurisdiction.
