Gilad Ben-Ami steps up as Ezugi CEO
- Ezugi COO Gilad Ben-Ami has been promoted to CEO, replacing Kfir Kugler at the Evolution-owned live dealer gaming provider
- Ben-Ami joined Ezugi in 2017 and helped establish the company’s Romanian operations from a small team
- The appointment signals continuity at Ezugi as it continues expanding globally with 12 studios and around 20 live dealer games
Live dealer specialist Ezugi has appointed Gilad Ben-Ami as its new CEO, promoting him from his position as Chief Operating Officer. The appointment sees Ben-Ami replace Kfir Kugler.
Ben-Ami has been with Ezugi since June 2017, initially helping to establish the company’s presence in Romania. His promotion comes after almost eight years in the COO position, during which he played an integral role in the company’s growth from a small team into a significant operation.
The new CEO brings extensive experience in technology and business management to the role. Before joining Ezugi, Ben-Ami held various positions including Director at G.B. Technologies Ltd., COO and VP of R&D at social games startup Gamesmart, and Director of Products at VibeSec. He also served in the Israeli Defense Forces’ intelligence unit and holds an MBA from Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
“Stepping into the role of CEO at Ezugi feels like being entrusted with something very special. Little did I know where the journey would lead when I started eight years ago, helping to build Ezugi presence in Romania, with a small team working hard to make an impact,” Ben-Ami said.
Ben-Ami expressed gratitude for the opportunity and acknowledged the collective effort behind the company’s success.
“It has been an amazing journey to be part of, and I would like to thank all my colleagues – past and present – who contributed to our success,” he added.
Since its founding in 2012, Ezugi has grown into a major force in the live casino vertical under Evolution Group’s ownership. The company currently operates 12 state-of-the-art studios worldwide and offers approximately 20 popular live dealer games.
Evolution Gaming acquired Ezugi in 2018 for an initial consideration of $12 million plus potential additional payments of up to $6 million.
The leadership transition comes as Ezugi continues to innovate beyond traditional table games. The company is expanding into new formats including its first Marble Race title, reflecting a broader industry trend toward gamification within the live casino space.
Ben-Ami confirmed he will be meeting with partners soon to outline the brand’s future strategy. His appointment represents a focus on continuity and internal expertise as Ezugi pursues its global expansion plans under Evolution Group’s umbrella.
