FIFA has extended and expanded its long-standing integrity services partnership with Sportradar Group AG (Nasdaq: SRAD), renewing the agreement for an additional five years through 2031, as the organisations look ahead to the FIFA World Cup 2026 and a more complex global betting landscape.
The renewed deal builds on a relationship that began in 2017. It provides AI-driven bet-monitoring services and now includes broader intelligence and investigation support, as well as dedicated risk assessment for both FIFA and its 211 member associations.
AI-powered fraud detection
The refreshed agreement covers men’s and women’s FIFA international competitions, confederation-run international and club tournaments, the top two domestic tiers across member associations, and main national cup competitions globally. Together, the scope extends Sportradar’s monitoring reach across a football ecosystem that spans all levels of the game.
Sportradar’s proprietary AI-powered Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS AI) sits at the centre of the arrangement. The platform, built on more than 20 years of historical data, combines AI-powered bet monitoring with rapid operator reporting and education programmes. Since 2017, the system has tracked more than 600,000 matches on behalf of FIFA.
Andreas Krannich, Sportradar’s Executive Vice President of Integrity Services, commented:
“The expansion of our integrity agreement with FIFA further strengthens the ability to identify, assess and respond to risks in an increasingly complex global picture,” Krannich said.
“Our integrity services are designed to address risk in a joined-up way, combining bet monitoring through our AI-powered Universal Fraud Detection System, built in-house using more than 20 years of historical data, with rapid reporting from betting operators, alongside comprehensive education and prevention programmes delivered to sports organisations worldwide.”
World Cup 2026 in focus
The timing of the renewal is notable. The FIFA World Cup 2026, to be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico, is considered the most commercially significant football event for the global betting industry.
Sportradar executives have previously indicated that the tournament can account for around 20 to 30% of annual operator revenue, with first-time deposits peaking well above monthly averages during the World Cup period.
Sportradar’s integrity work in Brazil is particularly relevant ahead of the tournament. In April 2025, the company renewed its exclusive partnership with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), covering more than 8,200 matches per season across national competitions. The company also holds partnerships with 17 state football federations in Brazil.
With the SBC Summit Rio taking place this week in Rio de Janeiro, Sportradar’s ability to demonstrate its protection infrastructure across the region’s expanding regulated markets will be under the spotlight.
For operators, federations and regulators, the extended FIFA agreement reinforces the growing expectation that integrity monitoring must operate at scale, covering both elite competitions and domestic football, to remain effective against organised criminal groups exploiting global betting markets.
