Cardiff-based AI document intelligence platform eyeDP has closed a late seed funding round, securing investment from a network of angel investors and strategic industry figures to accelerate product development and team expansion over the next 12 months.
The company, which launched in 2025, said the round closed on 28 March. eyeDP provides real-time document verification and fraud detection for regulated industries, with a particular focus on iGaming, fintech and financial services.
Fraud drives demand
The funding arrives at a moment of heightened urgency around document fraud. AI-driven fraud is intensifying, with synthetic identity techniques combining real and fake data to produce convincing identities capable of bypassing traditional verification checks. For operators in regulated markets, the pressure to deploy more sophisticated document intelligence tools is growing.
eyeDP’s platform continuously scans documents, connects data points and flags risk in real time, removing the need for manual review. The company says the technology provides operators with constant oversight without slowing down decision-making.
Warren Russell, CEO at eyeDP, said:
“We’ve been building towards this for some time. This investment gives us the ability to stay focused on what matters, improving the product, scaling the team, and solving a problem that’s only becoming more complex as fraud evolves. Our goal is simple: to give regulated organisations clarity and confidence in every decision they make.”
Partnership network grows
Alongside the funding, eyeDP has built out a series of commercial partnerships. These include an integration with the Provenir Data Marketplace, a reseller agreement with Devcode, a distribution partnership with Crucial Compliance and a collaboration with IDVcheck to strengthen anti-money laundering capabilities.
The IDVcheck tie-up, announced in January, integrates eyeDP’s AML services into the IDVcheck platform, enhancing identity and document verification for clients across iGaming, fintech and financial services. The company says additional partnerships are in place but cannot yet be named publicly.
The platform’s core capabilities include real-time AI verification, fraud prevention and compliance automation, with end-to-end encryption and global privacy standards built in.
Next phase of growth
The next stage for eyeDP centres on expanding the range of document types the platform can process, improving accuracy and advancing towards fully automated intelligent document processing. The company is also investing in headcount to support increased operational scale.
With the seed round closed and a growing roster of distribution partners, eyeDP is positioned to move into a more active commercial phase. Operators and compliance teams evaluating their document verification infrastructure in 2026 are likely to find a widening field of AI-native options competing for attention.
