Digitain secures Belgium licence to expand European operations
- Gaming technology provider Digitain receives Belgium’s E-category licence from the Belgian Gaming Commission
- The licence enables Digitain to provide platform services, sportsbook solutions and live dealer games to licensed operators
- Move marks another step in Digitain’s European expansion strategy in highly regulated markets
Digitain has secured Belgium’s E-category licence from the Belgian Gaming Commission, enabling the iGaming solutions provider to offer its comprehensive technology platform to licensed operators in one of Europe’s most strictly regulated jurisdictions.
The E-category licence permits Digitain to provide its Centrivo platform, sportsbook solutions, and live dealer games through its Imagine Live division to Belgian operators.
Belgium maintains one of Europe’s most rigorous regulatory frameworks for online gambling, with demanding standards for fair play, responsible gaming, and consumer protection. The Belgian licence adds to Digitain’s growing portfolio of regulated market approvals across Europe.
The Belgian Gaming Commission closely monitors all supplier and operator activities, making regulatory approval a demonstration of compliance capabilities. Belgium’s strict regulatory environment requires suppliers to meet complex conditions before receiving operational approval.
The E-category licence, which is valid for 10 years, covers manufacturers, installers, repairers of gaming devices and online platform providers.
Belgium’s three regions – Flemish, Walloon and Brussels-Capital – each impose an 11% tax on gross gaming revenue for online gambling activities. The country offers various licence categories, with E-category specifically designed for B2B suppliers providing technology services to licensed operators.
