Codere Italia has officially entered the online gaming market with the launch of its codere.it platform, marking a strategic expansion beyond its established retail operations in the regulated Italian market.
Digital expansion
The Spanish gaming group’s Italian subsidiary announced the launch after successfully securing a new remote gaming licence through the Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) tender process. The company’s digital platform offers casino games, sports betting, and other gaming products in full compliance with ADM regulations.
Codere Italia has operated retail gaming venues in Italy for over two decades, initially establishing its presence through the acquisition of the Operbingo network in 2001. The company currently manages more than 7,000 gaming machines across 800 venues nationwide.
“With Codere.it, we’re taking a natural yet strategic step: to firmly establish ourselves in the online segment, while maintaining our identity as a serious, regulated, and customer-focused operator. Our goal is to offer a consistent, high-quality omnichannel experience,” said Alejandro Pascual, Regional Manager Europe and Country Manager of Codere Italia.
Technology and partnerships
The online platform launch comes alongside Codere’s broader expansion strategy in Italy. Earlier this year, the company acquired a 70% stake in Codgames, a Calabria-based operator managing over 600 video lottery terminals and amusement machines in southern Italy.
“Codere.it was founded with the ambition of offering an online experience that meets the highest international standards, combining technology, usability, and premium content. We have built a solid and scalable platform, ready to grow and adapt to the needs of our users and partners.” commented Roberto Russo, Online Director of Codere Italia.
Open to B2B partnerships
Codere Italia’s digital launch positions the company within Italy’s evolving online gaming landscape. The ADM’s recent licensing process attracted 46 operators, including major brands like LeoVegas, Snaitech, and Sisal, as part of a regulatory overhaul scheduled for completion by September 2025.
The company plans to develop B2B partnerships with existing retail operators seeking to transition into online gaming, offering technological infrastructure and commercial support through its established brand recognition.
