BetMGM promotes Jarrod Schwarz to chief operating officer
- BetMGM promotes Jarrod Schwarz from chief product officer to a newly created COO position after five years with the company
- Schwarz will oversee product, customer operations, technology and trading departments as part of broader organisational restructuring
- The appointment follows recent formation of separate iGaming and sports verticals as BetMGM streamlines operations across 29 markets
BetMGM has appointed Jarrod Schwarz as chief operating officer, promoting him from his role as chief product officer where he spent nearly five years building the operator’s product portfolio.
The newly created position places Schwarz in charge of product development, customer operations, technology and trading functions as the company restructures its leadership team.
Schwarz joined BetMGM with two decades of digital product experience spanning major brands including Disney, eBay and JP Morgan Chase.
At Disney, he played a key role launching ESPN+, the entertainment giant’s first direct-to-consumer streaming service, before moving to the gaming sector.
“Jarrod has been an integral part of our incredible team, building BetMGM into one of the most recognisable and successful brands in sports betting and iGaming,” said CEO Adam Greenblatt. “He has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of our business.”
The promotion forms part of wider organisational changes at BetMGM, which recently established separate iGaming and sports verticals led by Oliver Bartlett and Raymond Doyle respectively.
The company has also moved strategy, corporate development and select business development functions under CFO Gary Deutsch’s finance organisation.
These structural modifications aim to create more streamlined planning and collaboration whilst better aligning strategic capabilities across the business. BetMGM currently operates across 29 markets through both mobile applications and retail locations.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to step into this role,” Schwarz commented.
“It’s a privilege to continue the incredible journey we’ve been on at BetMGM, building on our momentum in sports betting and iGaming. Together with our exceptionally talented team, I look forward to pushing the boundaries of innovation and strengthening our position as a market leader.” he concluded.
Before joining BetMGM, Schwarz served as vice president of product for Bloomspot, a startup later acquired by JP Morgan Chase, and held senior positions at eBay for six years.
His appointment comes as BetMGM continues expanding into new markets whilst maintaining focus on responsible gambling initiatives.
