Event description
12th EL Congress 2025 takes place from 14 to 17 September 2025 at the Kursaal in Bern, Switzerland. This edition is hosted by Loterie Romande and Swisslos under the auspices of European Lotteries (EL).
The Congress focuses on the theme “Building a Better World”, bringing together lottery leaders, innovators, and policymakers to address responsible innovation and regulatory challenges facing the industry. The timing is significant as the lottery sector continues to evolve to remain relevant. The event aims to ensure lotteries maintain their societal role while embracing progress and new tech.
The programme features keynote speakers and industry leaders addressing topics including responsible gaming, regulatory developments, industry sustainability, and lottery marketing excellence. Sessions will explore the future of lotteries, innovation strategies, and approaches to maintain public trust.
The Trade Show will showcase sector innovations alongside the official programme. The 2025 EL Advertising Awards will celebrate marketing excellence within the lottery industry. The Congress concludes with the EL General Assembly on 17 September. All presentations are delivered in English.
Bern, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, provides an ideal venue that blends historical significance with modern sustainability practices. The city’s commitment to environmental responsibility aligns with the Congress theme, whilst its excellent public transport network supports sustainable travel.
The Congress is open to EL members and industry professionals, with registration covering access to all sessions, the Trade Show, networking opportunities, and award ceremonies. The event provides exhibition opportunities for suppliers and service providers to connect with lottery operators and decision-makers.
Registration includes participation in official programme events, though accommodation must be arranged separately.
