Underdog, the fastest-growing sports gaming company in the United States, announced two senior executive appointments as it prepares for its next phase of growth.

The Brooklyn-based operator has hired Rishi Garg as Chief Financial Officer and Kimberly Pointer Corbett as Chief Marketing Officer.

The appointments arrive as Underdog anticipates generating nearly $500 million in revenue during its fifth year of operation. The timing follows the successful launch of a partnership with Crypto.com’s derivatives division to offer sports prediction market contracts through the Underdog platform.

Rishi Garg brings more than 20 years of experience across investing, corporate development and strategy. The former entrepreneur previously held executive positions at Twitter and Square before spending nine years as a partner leading the consumer practice at Mayfield Fund. His appointment comes as Underdog seeks to align product innovation with robust financial strategy during its expansion phase.

“From day one at Underdog, I could feel that the energy here is different,” said Rishi Garg, Chief Financial Officer at Underdog.

“After only five years, Underdog is growing fast and is beloved by fans. Right now, we have a pivotal opportunity to be a great consumer company and build the essential daily companion to the American sports fan, and I am excited to be a part of it”.

Kimberly Pointer Corbett arrives with over a decade of marketing leadership across mobile and console gaming. She previously served as Senior Vice President of Digital Publishing at Warner Bros Games, where she led comprehensive publishing strategies spanning user acquisition, lifecycle management and analytics to scale mobile and AAA game launches.

“Underdog has amazing talent and is positioned to be the biggest company in the space with what they’ve built for sports fans,” commented Kimberly Pointer Corbett, Chief Marketing Officer at Underdog.

“The company has an unwavering focus on the fan experience and a one-of-a-kind media ecosystem that makes it a unique place. I am thrilled to join the team, and I can’t wait to build on Underdog’s strong foundation to reach new heights”.

The hires strengthen Underdog’s leadership team as it expands beyond traditional fantasy sports and licensed betting into prediction market contracts. The company’s event contracts enable users to wager on outcomes across major sports including NFL, college football, NBA and MLB through its partnership with Crypto.com’s US derivatives division.

Founded in 2020, Underdog recently completed a $70 million Series C funding round led by Spark Capital, marking the sports gaming industry’s largest investment from a top-tier Silicon Valley venture capital firm. The funding valued the company at more than $1.3 billion.

“Our formula to win is simple: invest in people and product, and we bring in leaders who know what it takes to build the type of company we want to be,” said Jeremy Levine, Founder and CEO of Underdog.

“Throughout their careers, Rishi and Kimberly have done it, demonstrating the ability to build some of the most globally successful consumer brands. We have ambitious goals and we’re building the team to take us there”.

The appointments position Underdog to compete more effectively in the expanding prediction market sector, currently dominated by established players including Kalshi, Polymarket and Robinhood.
