Loto-Québec posts record Q1 results with 11% growth

• The Quebec gaming corporation generated CA$766.5 million in total revenues for the first quarter of fiscal 2025-2026, marking an 11.1% increase
• Casino and gaming halls led growth with revenues climbing 17.6% to CA$323.4 million, whilst lottery revenues rose 7.8% to CA$236.3 million
• Net income reached CA$384.4 million, representing a 9.9% year-on-year increase for the three-month period ending 30 June 2025

Loto-Québec delivered strong financial performance in the opening quarter of its 2025-2026 fiscal year, with total revenues climbing to CA$766.5 million between 1 April and 30 June 2025.

The corporation posted consolidated net income of CA$384.4 million, representing a CA$34.7 million increase over the same period last year.

The casino and gaming hall sector drove much of the growth, with revenues surging 17.6% to CA$323.4 million compared to the previous year. Gaming establishments also contributed positively, recording revenues of CA$212.2 million, up 5.7% year-on-year. The lottery division generated CA$236.3 million in revenues, marking a 7.8% increase.

“We’re sustaining last year’s momentum and posting increased results after one quarter thanks to our teams’ steady commitment, efficiently managing several simultaneous initiatives,” said Jean-François Bergeron, President and Chief Executive Officer of Loto-Québec.

The corporation’s digital platform continued to expand its reach during the quarter, with both lottery and casino games performing strongly online. Bergeron attributed this success to what he described as a diversified, up-to-date and responsible offering.

During the quarter, Loto-Québec created 42 new millionaires, with lottery winners receiving nearly CA$430 million in total payouts. The largest jackpot went to a group of 15 colleagues from the Mauricie region, who shared a CA$20 million prize from the 3 June Lotto Max draw.

Two record-setting wins were also reported at Casino du Lac-Leamy. On 16 April, a player won a progressive poker jackpot worth CA$2,513,553, followed by another visitor who claimed CA$2,211,553 on a slot machine just one month later.

Bergeron highlighted key developments during the quarter, including plans for expanding the conference centre at Hôtel-Casino du Lac-Leamy, which he said would strengthen Gatineau’s position as a business tourism destination. The company also announced the return of the popular comedy event Loto-Québec fait son Juste pour rire at Hôtel-Casino de Charlevoix.

New gaming developments introduced during the period included gaming tables in gaming halls, a new inter-location progressive poker jackpot, and an optional side bet in blackjack. The corporation also supported around 50 events across Quebec through its Rendez-vous Loto-Québec programme as the province’s festival season began.

“It’s a promising start to the year, and I’m convinced we’ll continue delivering results that will make us all proud since they benefit all of Quebec,” Bergeron added.

The strong first quarter performance builds on Loto-Québec’s fiscal year 2024-2025 results, when the corporation reported total revenues of CA$2.993 billion and net income of CA$1.518 billion. All profits from Loto-Québec operations are returned to the Quebec provincial government.
